Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Brazier.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jason. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am certified by the ISSA (International Sports Science Association) as well as by the National Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), which is a non-profit educational association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a minor in Kinesiology.
I graduated from Lewis-Clark State College, equipped with a solid foundation of knowledge to serve clients in accordance with best business practices. My knowledge of Kinesiology enables me to take a “mind-body” approach to fitness training, which oftentimes helps clients deal more effectively with difficulties such as stress and fatigue. As you can see, we extend benefits far beyond what you get out of a physical workout, as our workouts positively impact other areas of your life.
I earned my college education on an athletic scholarship, played basketball at Lewis-Clark State College. I served on the Antigua National Basketball team, which competes in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). That experience enables me to coach clients towards a winning mindset, and the technical skills that come along with that, as they work towards their ultimate fitness. I am passionate about training people because I want everyone to live a long, healthy and happy life. I hope my work will also prevent people from the kind of pain I felt watching my mother’s rapid health decline caused by diabetes. When I was a kid, my mother was always a strong, independent woman. We enjoyed life on the Caribbean island of Antigua and good food was always a big part of the fun… but we consumed a lot of carbs, especially sugar. We just didn’t have a lot of information about the dangers. And Mom didn’t change her eating habits, even after being diagnosed with diabetes.
When I left my country on a basketball scholarship in 1998, my mom was still working and going strong. By 2003 she had lost a lot of weight and experienced discomfort in her eyes. The problems grew worse. In 2008 she was declared legally blind and had such severe kidney damage she had to stop working at the young age of 55. She has been on dialysis ever since and, since then, lost a toe to the disease. Thankfully, Mom is still with us and just as strong as ever in spirit. She has lived long enough to know my wife and hold my beautiful daughters. Mom gives me remarkable strength. I know my goal to keep everyone healthy is a big one, but I am determined to help as many people as I can experience the benefits of eating correctly and exercising.
Simple changes in your health habits today can save you and or loved ones the stress of losing their health or having to become caregivers prematurely. As you read this today, I encourage you to think of 10 friends who could benefit from learning how to eat better and exercise–and offer them my contact information! You can offer them three free sessions to experience what Creation Performance is all about and how we can help them along their journey to looking and feeling better.
You can work together with your loved ones toward a healthier lifestyle with the goal of making a stunning body transformation. Just remember, I am here to help you get in the most spectacular shape of your life!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road but I have been in business since 2009. I opened my first gym in November of 2009 in Bronx, New York. Today, I had to close my gym due to the pandemic and training from my garage, along with doing virtual training. I can say that I had to pivot from a gym owner and, now I am training small group classes, virtual classes and one on one personal training to make a living.
I am facing a huge debt a the moment because my landlord will not let me out of my contract and sends me a monthly invoice every month.
California governor forced all gyms to close in March of 2020, during the first three months of the pandemic, Gavin Newson gave all tenants a 90 day no payment period but all tenants would have to pay landlords after the 90 days period. I have not worked in my facility since March but I am expected to pay rent, which I think is crazy. I am currently $75,000 dollars in rent owed and my least is not expired until December 2021.
I am hoping that the Governor can step in and forgive the rent owed since the pandemic cause me to not operate and we were asked to close.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Creation Performance Fitness – what should we know?
Creation Performance Offers a variety of health and wellness services, including but not limited to personal training, nutrition counseling, and more.
Our primary focus is to provide safe and efficient workouts while concentrating on joint health so you will be able to train and be active for decades, not months.
Individuals will have different needs based on lifestyles, professions and medical issues. We will tailor each workout to the individual to provide what will be the most beneficial for them specifically, not a general population.
I am very proud of the way I had to adapt from training in person to now doing virtual training and now providing both services to my clients.
I think what sets me apart is the fact that I am a people person and I can adapt to my client’s personality within 5 minutes of interacting with them.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think having a passion really helps because some days are tough and when you are passionate, you can overcome and have huge success.
