Meet Jasmine Meadows in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Meadows.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I fell in love with acting in high school but didn’t think I could professionally pursue it. I went to college undecided and tried to figure out something else I could do. Nothing seemed to give me the thrill and feeling of completion like acting. I decided to major in theatre at the University of Maryland College Park. After graduating with my Bachelors degree in liberal arts I tried my hand at staying local to my home. The closet city was Philadelphia. I had some success and experience but knew I wanted more. I drove across the country in 2015 and landed in the city of angels. I had a full time job at the time, an Operations Manager at LA Fitness. My plan was to get grounded and save money so I could leave that position as soon as possible. I stayed a year and a half and finally told myself I couldn’t wait any longer because life isn’t promised. I demoted myself and started doing background work, and was lucky enough to have some great success with that and got a taste of the industry I so desperately wanted to be a part of. Since then I have stepped back from background work so I can focus on commercials and theatrical roles. I have had a few different agents and managers in the process. I have two jobs in addition to acting which allows me the flexibility that this industry so desperately demands. I’m now getting more creative and writing scripts that feature myself. I bought a camera to experiment with that side of my creativity. I have a few running commercials, one locally and one nationally (Informercial) All in all, the journey isn’t close to being done but its a journey I am willing and ready to continue. I love the art of it all and the ability to be as creative as I possible want. My next step is to make my own material to give to the world. I’ve always wanted to share my craft and inspire and move people, so that’s what I will continue to do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have been some bumps, but all in all it is those bumps that have molded me into the person I am today. Moving across the country from my entire family wasn’t easy and still isn’t some days. I’ve lost people I care for, teachers, friends family members that I wasn’t able to be there for since I moved. The struggles of money will continue to be present especially now with this pandemic. But when it comes to the end of the day, I’m finally doing what I love. It may be in a way that people don’t agree with or think I should do differently, but that’s okay. I know my journey is my own and the struggles I continue to face will pay off eventually.

Jasmine Meadows – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am an actress who doesn’t necessarily specialize in one particular thing, I think I can provide services commercially, theatrically, I even dabble in modeling. I have a theatre background so I’m naturally very expressive and emote like my life depends on it. I do have a comedic side, but I can cry pretty much on cue. I’m proud that I keep pushing myself even though I might not do it the way everyone else wants me to. I know my talent and I know my worth, I have something unique to bring to the world of entertainment and I can’t wait for everyone to see.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally success is different in everyones eyes. For me It’s the act of doing what you love and not giving up. Facing the fears you might have or have been warned about and rising above and beyond. Continuing to break through the walls that either you or your family or friends or society have made and show the world your greatness. I think success is never ending and continually happening every day. Success is on going and if you see it like that each day can be successful if you try.
