Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Heard.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Event planning was always a thing that came easily to me growing up. I was always the planner in any of my friend groups. In almost every restaurant I worked at, I was put in charge of planning parties, hosting events, and coordinating guest parties. It continued to expand and I found myself planning baby showers, birthday parties, and weddings for my friends. I loved what I was doing, but it was always just a hobby in my mind. It took a long time for me to realize that this was something I could make a business out of. I had my sights focused on other things.
I moved my son and I from Colorado to Cali with hopes of modeling. Well we all know how well that turns out. Here I was a year in and getting zero traction and making very little progress. All the while trying to find a way to get out of the industry of working for other people. I no longer wanted to build dreams for everyone else and I wanted to build my own dreams but I didn’t know how to start. I had a really good friend helping me brainstorm ideas but not much was really clicking for me. Then one day at the beginning of last year, my sis told me she was engaged and wanted me to help her plan her wedding. In an instant, it was like a light went on in my head. In that moment, I knew how I would build my dream and create something that was mine. That was when I got to work on creating Jazzed Up Planning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the road has been as smooth as it could be for my business growth. Creating the perfect website definitely gave me some hard times. However, I feel as though I have grown so much starting Jazzed Up Planning. My business has grown and made so much progress and Jazzed Up Planning gets better every day.
As you know, we’re big fans of Jazzed Up Planning. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Jazzed Up Planning is a wedding and event planning business. While weddings are the most popular, I am here to plan just about anything for my clients. I offer services for baby showers, engagement parties, birthday parties, work and holiday parties, and anything else that comes to mind. I also have offer the option of planning a date night or a weekend get away. That one is super simple but it’s a great option because it allows people to enjoy the smaller things without having to plan it. I work very closely with my clients to ensure that we are bringing their events to life in the way that they hoped it would be.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan on expanding my business by bringing on others who share the same passion for planning and helping people that I have. I want lead planners and assistant planners on my team so that we can always be available for any client that wants to work with us. I also want to work with other companies to be the event planner for their holiday and work parties.
I am actually really excited because I am planning to host a masquerade ball next year. I have been toying with the idea for quite a while and made the decision that it is time to bring that to life. I will have more details to come of that soon but I expect it to be absolutely amazing!
The goal is to allow my clients to enjoy the celebrations in their lives without the overwhelming stress that comes with event planning.
