Meet Jasmine Gayton of Aura D’Luxxe in West Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Gayton.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I recently decided to go by the name Melo. I chose the name Melo because it represents me immensely. Growing up, I was known to be the shy, quiet girl who was very smart, conservative but very chill. I was socially awkward at times, and I spent a lot of time alone at home. My mom was a single parent so I had responsibilities with helping her around the house and watching my younger sister. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to participate in any extracurriculars due to my circumstances but I did spend a ton of time reading books and watching documentaries. I was always into self-help books and things that would help me get ahead. You can almost say I was obsessed, and I would write notes from the things I’d learn from reading or what I watched for use later in life. I read books about psychology and even metaphysical books. I was so excited about my future and making sure that I was “ready” for what was to come for me. Boy did I have no idea that as much as I prepared…mistakes and obstacles were inevitable. I also use to make virtual and physical vision boards of what I wanted to be like, dress like, etc. I didn’t even know that I was manifesting it into reality.

Once I graduated high school, I attended Cal State La. It was a big transition because I definitely had more freedom now, and I was able to drive. (BIG MISTAKE LOL) My first car was a stick! Although my dad had thoroughly taught me, I was commuting 40 minutes to school and I can’t even count how many times I use to scrape, bump, hit my car. Anyways… I had a few setbacks and realized that school wasn’t a good time for me and I took a break. I came back, did a WHOLE SEMESTER (YES A WHOLE!!) and I absolutely got no credit for none of my classes. There was so much miscommunication regarding paperwork, and I felt so discouraged. I wanted to give up because nothing turned out how I imagined when I was younger. I had such high hopes, I didn’t realize how reality can humble you for real!

For a while, I was in a dark place and I lost a lot of my confidence and motivation to continue striving. I gave most of my time solely to working full time, and it was dreadful. I hated working for other people. I also went through some traumatic experiences that rocked my world, but I am so grateful for them because it gave me so many perspectives outside of my own. At the time I was going through them, I thought that my life was over and it was what it was. Honestly, I think that God put me in those situations to teach me that life is so much more than society has taught us. It’s so much more than “getting to the bag”, and becoming “successful” was deeper than that. I mean, yes, we need money to survive but we aren’t meant to make it our main focus. Having gone through those experiences, I learned that success is self-actualization and self- fulfillment. The simple things in life that aren’t tangible such as love, compassion, awareness, family, inner peace…Those are the things that matter.

When you channel your energy into being positive, optimistic, and nurturing towards yourself and others. You WILL manifest your deepest desires and heal yourself from past traumas, wounds, and negativity. You will enjoy life. To me, that is what success is now. I have faith in myself and my future, and I don’t have to keep working and obsessing on what steps can I do now to become successful. You will literally drain your own energy and stunt your growth.

That was something I learned along my journey, trusting in the process. Focus on what you can control, and let the rest work itself out. You can only do so much, and it doesn’t allow you the enjoy the now! Things will happen the way they are supposed to.

Once I learned that I began doing things that made me happy and that required me making my own sacrifices. I quit my job last year and went full-on in investing in my own business. It was risky, but I hated working for someone else and I knew I had what it took to be an entrepreneur. I believed in myself. Here I am now, a YEAR later, building an empire on my own with an expanding brand. Aura D’Luxxe has become my life, and I love everything about it. I have inspired others with the wisdom from years and years of learning as a kid and young adult. I’m no where I’d like to be, but I’m loving every moment of evolution!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first began Aura D’Luxxe, it was not easy at all! I just had my ideas written down of what I wanted my brand to represent, and the products I’d like to sell. Watching tons of YouTube videos and reviewing my notes were beneficial, however I lacked experience. I had to find my own vendors, set up an account, my logo, etc. I do confess that it was more challenging because I am very independent, and I hate asking for help! I wanted to do everything on my own. I pulled through though and made it happen.

Like any other entrepreneur, I experienced some ups and downs and learned my do’s and don’ts along the way. I don’t regret it at all though because I know that the bigger picture was everything I would ever want. I was building my own empire, with my rules and regulations. Plus, I was able to meet many amazing people along the way who are so supportive of my journey and inspiring in their own way.

If you are pursuing a business, make sure you are authentic in your approach and you can connect to it. It makes everything flow better, and people will be drawn to your passion and dedication to what you’re doing. Focus on the positive moments and the bigger picture, because it will not always be peaches and cream. It can be stressful and requires you the put your all into it! Say bye bye to that 9-5 and say hello to that 25-8 jk. Make time for self, and be mindful of time management to maintain balance within your life! Last but not least, DO NOT COMPARE YOUR JOURNEY TO OTHERS.

Aura D’Luxxe – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Aura D’ Luxxe is more than a brand to me, it IS a lifestyle. Aura D’ Luxxe epitomizes Luxurious Aura. You may be wondering what an “Aura” is and how it correlates to you. It has everything to do with you. Your “Aura” reveals your energy, vibration, and overall disposition. Your “Aura” is your body’s magnetic energy field. It consists of thoughts and affirmations that are within your consciousness. Your thoughts project your reality. If you desire to live a life of luxury, you must think with a Luxurious mind. Think thoughts and affirmations of positivity, self-love, and abundance. Break out of old ways, and replace it with healthy and productive ones. Self-care is very important.

When creating Aura D’Luxxe, I used most of the concepts I learned amongst my journey that helped me develop a positive and exciting new approach to life. As I mentioned before, Aura D’Luxxe is about a luxurious mindset and way of being. I want to empower others and let them know that you can be luxurious without having the cars, clothes and everything we see on the media. Focus on self-care and indulge in things that make you feel good and abundant right now! You are worth it, so why not treat yourself like a million bucks today. Aura D’Luxxe carries Luxurious Body Oils that smell SOOO GOOD and help improve your mood almost immediately! We have velvet durags we called “ZADDY DURAGS” that are so soft and rich and essential for self-care to protect your “crown”. Also, our jewelry is just out of this world featuring body chains for the ladies who want to bring out their inner goddess, and earrings that sparkle effortlessly. These products are sold to empower our audience because they are worth it. They should feel good, and they shouldn’t have to break their pockets to get that experience either.

I also write poetry (melo.vibezpoetry), paint, and write daily empowering messages to followers and loved ones. I share things that I’ve learned and things we all can relate to one way or another. I just love connecting with others and knowing that I can help someone out there. I am currently working on writing a book about aligning yourself with tips and insights that I’m super excited about!! Can’t wait.

I am just so happy with where I am, even if I haven’t finished yet. The fact that I have already helped people who I’ve encountered is enough for me to feel blessed and abundant. Knowing that I have more to offer is what makes things more fun and enjoyable. I think that’s what sets me apart is that I don’t focus so much on achieving material success. Yes, I profit from my business but I’m more so focused on how I help others feel abundant too. I already feel successful.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment that I’ve had is having got this far period!! I quit my job last year and have been working for myself ever since. I literally manifested everything that was on my vision board!
