Meet Jared Parrott of Doubleloop Social in Downtown LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Parrott.

Jared, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My business story starts with the need for communication. Over the last few years, I have worked with varying agencies, brands, and studios and there is always a common denominator when it comes to social media marketing – communication. Many times people who need help with their social media don’t know how or have the time to communicate with their customers. I wanted to help with this, I wanted to create a company that allows a client to bring their personal touch and allow me to amplify it. Working with a client should be a partnership, and if they feel like they are not being heard or are being thrown to the side, then the what you create for them isn’t really theirs.

From 2016 to present, I have gone from a Graphic Design Intern to a Sr. Social Media Manager. Along the road, I was lucky enough to meet Nicole Woods, the owner of Viking Social Agency. She and I worked together at a creative agency and she took interest to see that I had strengths in other areas besides graphic design. She started having me work on creative strategy for campaigns and a light bulb clicked. I suddenly realized that I was working in the wrong position. In 2018 Nicole went out on her own and brought me on board to handle all of her strategy and social media clients, and soon after Viking Social Agency was born. After a year and a half of being with Viking, I branched out to working with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. I worked as their social media manager from January of this year until June. During that time, I helped triple their social media following on Instagram from 12,000 to 32,000 followers.

Working with these studios and agencies has pushed me with my creative thinking and strategy when it comes to marketing and social media. A diverse world of brands and studios gives me an interesting perspective and I believe that allows me to serve a wide range of clients. Doubleloop Social brings the idea of “Creating Your Community” to its clients. We want to help you build a community around your business, brand, studio, etc..

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to creating a business is never easy. I have been lucky along the way to be able to build a strong network of talented, smart, business-minded individuals who have given me excellent advice in building this business. The business is still in the VERY early stages and I am still learning and making adjustments every day.

Please tell us about Doubleloop Social.
Doubleloop Social is first and foremost a Social Media Marketing company. We work with businesses, both small and large, in helping find gaps, and develop new strategies to help them build a community in the social media world. Creating a community on social media allows businesses to build a deeper relationship with their clients.

We offer a wide range of services including, community management, consultation services, social strategy, paid digital marketing, social media graphic design, social analytics reporting, copywriting & photography.

Our ability to work remotely allows us to travel anywhere to help serve clients. No matter how far or how small the business is, we have a way to help you.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The biggest lesson I have learned is “DO NOT COMPARE!” I spent so much of the early days of developing this business and comparing myself to other agencies and how they operate or how quickly they achieved success.

Each business and owner is unique to itself and nothing is the same for any two businesses. Take your time and don’t try to compete with timelines that don’t exist yet.

I am still in the early days of opening and starting and I am sure I will learn so many more things along the way.
