Meet Jamie Lebowitz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Lebowitz.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am a personal trainer turned food photographer, turned videographer. I still dabble in food photography, but now my focus is more story telling through video. I have always been into health and fitness, but my interest in media came out of nowhere. One day I got my hands on a camera and totally fell in love with creating. I love that there are no boundaries and I can have complete creative freedom to make something as I visualize it in my mind.

Please tell us about your art.
I started freelancing in food photography when I got a little obsessed taking pictures of food bloggers’ creations during my internship at We would have them come in to make a recipe on Facebook live, and I would photograph it for Instagram. I loved learning how simple angles and food styling props could completely change the looks of the photo, thus making food look more appetizing. Although food photography has comprised most of my feed on @lebowfit, I am now dedicating more time to my other account @theinspiredcapture, where I hope to create more videos of human movement and interviews of the people in them. I am passionate about aerial fitness and dance, and plan to make more content around this, telling stories in a visual way.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Self-limiting beliefs
