Meet Iona Burciaga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iona Burciaga.

Hi Iona, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m so grateful that one of my gifts growing up was creativity. I’ve always had a vivid imagination since I was a kid and had big dreams since then. I think that because I had this dream of being an artist, it’s what fueled my ambition to pursue my life in those ways. I wasn’t the conventional go to college person, but I was definitely determined at getting good at whatever I pursued. First, it was working in the coffee industry. I learned how to make the best coffee and coffee art, but once I felt like I completed that goal and vision, I wanted to move forward and challenge myself further. It’s actually so interesting that working in coffee is what got me to where I am now. Every place I worked at led me in some way towards my now goal. For instance, now I have goals relating to skateboarding, fashion, and photography. A lot of the seeds for these business avenues were once seeds when I was working in coffee. I met a lot of people who encouraged me and helped me get into the photo industry. I also had many friends who supported me in launching some clothing ideas and supported me greatly while I was beginning to skate.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anyone has a smooth process. Otherwise, it would not be worth it. But to answer the question, no it isn’t been smooth. A few of the struggles along the way were… Struggles in my faith journey along the way, process of believing in myself, and letting go of friends I outgrew because I cared for them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a visionary / artist. I love to come up with concepts and ideas and bringing them to life. I specialize in creative and business entrepreneurship. What I’m currently doing is creating different avenues for these things to merge together while also being their own entities and bringing in residual income. I am most proud of myself in being able to have perseverance. There are many times where I have failed and had to try again for a lot of my business’ but I’ve learned to let it go and see it as all a part of my process and leading me to authentic journey. My faith is what sets me apart from others.

What are your plans for the future?
I never discuss my plans of the future until it is ready to be released.
