Meet India McWhorter of India Camille Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to India McWhorter.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am India McWhorter the owner and visionary of India Camille Events and Photography. At the age of 20, I married my best friend, and I planned everything! I know that’s where my passion for event planning truly began. I first became interested in photography in 2009 after our second daughter was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I became a mom at a young age so I put my passions on hold to help contribute to our household by getting a job as a custodian. My plan was to work for three years and save up to buy inventory. Well, three years turned into six and a half due to two promotions I received in the company and let’s just say I got comfortable with the income. While on a vacation, I reflected upon my life and passions and couldn’t contribute them to who I had become because they were more like ideas than passions now. Two days after I returned home from vacation, I expressed my thoughts with my husband and I decided I wanted to leave my job to pursue my dreams. After four months of preparation, many conversations and prayer I left my job.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with India Camille Events – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in “Making the Impossible Possible”. I have planned anything and everything; themed birthday parties, social and corporate events, weddings to remember, kids themed parties and more. I even have a photo booth so you can capture those moments that you want to last forever. I am passionate about my photography and I enjoy working intimately with my clients and maintaining solid relationships thereafter. I started my business full-time last year and life hasn’t been the same since. With the support of my amazing husband and three beautiful girls, I have been able to make my dream into a reality. Some would say that I have a little OCD, but I just believe that you have to pay attention to the details.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I believe that through life’s experiences and opportunities, it has produced patience and poise that is reflected and portrayed in my Event Planning and Photography business. I realized that my eyes only hold the memories momentarily but pictures last a lifetime. There is nothing I want more than to have my own venue one day and I know one day I will have it!
