Meet Imani Murray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Murray.

Hi Imani, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As with many others, the current pandemic forced people to pivot and figure out how they could make the best out of these crazy times. I noticed I would often get asked questions about social media from those around me, whether they were clients, friends, or followers on Instagram. So I decided to take my YouTube seriously from there. Every week since the beginning of the pandemic, I’ve posted a new video and the support has been amazing. Seeing where I started to now is truly insane! Prior to April 2020, I’d upload videos but I always felt something was missing. Thankfully, I found my niche with the social media tips and travel vlogs.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating content for YouTube while running a business is definitely not a walk in the park. Trying to balance the two while making sure I still enjoy my personal life is something I struggled with but this pandemic has allowed me to slow down, take a step back and really figure out how to manage a work/life balance.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create travel and social media content for YouTube. Every week I share social media tips on my channel to help brands and businesses improve their online presence. Prior to COVID, I would also document my travel experiences for my channel including my favorite trip to Aruba. I pride myself on making sure I include my personality in my videos and not just have boring, informative content. My proudest moment so far as a YouTuber is really just remaining so consistent with my channel and becoming a resource for others.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I would say learning how to adjust and adapt to what’s thrown at you is super important. Being able to take a step back, analyze your situation and successfully pivot has helped me advance in my career.
