Today we’d like to introduce you to Avery Jackson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had a respect and appreciation for the Art of Fashion and being Well-Groomed, instilled in me by My Parents. I’ve sketched designs for some time but never actualized any of them, as I focused all of my Artistic Energies on progressing my Acting Career.
However, I reached a moment where I needed to explore another of my Artistic Dimensions, one that was more tangible, as opposed to one impacted by Audition contingency. I went to an Open House at Fashion Institute of Design Merchandising (FIDM) and met my mentor, LA Designer Faith Rudder. After attending a few of her Showings, I was inspired to fulfill a 30-year-old aspiration and hold my own Collection Showing.
I took the initials of My Parents’ first names and created the name of My Fashion Design House – ” House of Gillian Marie Couturier”. My Designs are one-of-a-kind. Retro-inspired Women’s Evening Wear and Separates.
My first collection was 50’s inspired. I hope to bring back some Civility, Courtesy, Grace and Elegance to moments in daily living, through My Fashion Designs.
