Meet Hollie Geer of Holliegirl Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hollie Geer.

Hollie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 1994, I started working in the cosmetics industry at the retail level. By 1999, I was promoted to the executive side of the business working in the field of sales and education.

After working with several prestige companies such as Christian Dior, Laura Mercier, Yves Saint Laurent, and Estee Lauder, I decided to go into business for myself. As a mother of four children, I wanted more time with my family.

In 2007, I went back to school. After I was done, I opened up my own skincare company – Dermasurface Inc, starting with six cosmeceutical skincare products. From there, 12 years later, I now have over 22 skincare products and 139 color cosmetics. In 2017, I launched Hollie girl cosmetics to compliment Dermasurface skincare for clients to enjoy color and makeup with their skin care program.

I currently practice in Newport beach California seeing clients in the office doing skincare consultations and treatment programs. When I am not in the office, I am promoting my makeup line and doing personal appearances and speaking to clients on how to look and feel their best,

Has it been a smooth road?
The road in life is never a smooth one. As a single parent to 4 children and going to school all on my own, I was tired but determined to give them a better life. I wanted to be an example for them that no matter how hard it can be, that you have to press forward and be patient.

Our time will always come, we just have to wait for it. When you start a business, it takes everything you have, and money is tight. Everything you profit, you have to put back into your company. To keep a company growing you have to be creative and think outside the box.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Holliegirl Cosmetics – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have a complete range of skincare for every skin type. I have a full line of color cosmetics with over 20 shades of liquid makeup. With the knowledge I gained in the industry I was able to use that knowledge and create the products I have today.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
I love the diversity in Orange County and Los Angeles. I get to work with different skin types, skin tones, and taste/styles of makeup.
