Meet Helsey Lubiano of CHHC Event Planning & Operations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helsey Lubiano.

Helsey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always believe that “When you have a vision and that vision becomes larger, you need to seek help to conquer.” One of the many philosophies I live by. Building the momentum to every goal I set myself to breakthrough is not all about just ones’ effort. It is OK to seek help!

My professional background is in operational and financial corporate strategy. Working for various corporations for the past 17 years, I led several teams working as executive restructuring businesses to quickly stabilize performance and achieving revenue goals through comprehensive operations planning, financial analysis and so as developing marketing and public relations capabilities. Looking back at the processes and systems I placed, I found myself emphasizing the importance of marketing and PR to every company I worked for from the smallest firm to huge corporations. When I finally realized that I can help more companies out there that needed brand & profitability enhancement through corporate strategic event planning led me to co-found CHHC Event Planning & Operations with my lovely business partner, Christian Dale Reyes.

I’ve seen the marketing & PR evolve over the past 10 years building an online presence using social media, SEO, and creating content with its proven effectiveness as the basis of a brand image although aren’t emerging trends anymore. Now, let’s talk more about one specific marketing & PR program that brought significant ROI to the firms I worked for. The face to face interactions are still the most powerful and valuable way to forge important relationships that most companies nowadays easily forget. These could include orchestrating quality and result-oriented business events incorporating technological advancements in educational seminars, trade shows, conferences, networking, client and employee appreciation events, fundraisers and more. Any events that allow connection to your customers and prospects in the real world can provide great opportunities. According to The Content Marketing Institute’s benchmarks, budget and trends, 75% of B2B marketers listed “in-person events” as their top marketing tactic, above even blogging and social media.

How did I get myself here? I find this question so hard to answer but I think the best answer would be because I had some help. Life brings you people both the good and the bad. Bad people who taught me that expectation kills and life is unfair just as it has always been. And oh, the good ones who greatly impacted the way I am and where I am right now. My previous bosses, mentors, team, clients, vendors, supportive partner, friends and family who I value my relationships with. They all kicked my ass, gave me insights and pushed me to aspire to those heights and still continuously doing so. I thank life for giving me all of them!

On a personal note, I love to explore the globe and every facet of their characters and delving beneath the surface of cultures. I also love to have fun (obviously I love events!) and create memories with family and friends.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every individual or entrepreneur out there will agree that there’s always a struggle each one of us must battle. For entrepreneurs like me sure face many challenges from starting-up to keeping the business afloat with the uncertainty of the market conditions and the financial struggles that both pose a legitimate threat. Although taking it from one mentor of mine, acting and resolving these struggles is what separates those who excel from the companies who are closing the doors. I honestly find it tricky these days but I am lucky to have a smart business partner and supportive team working with me towards achieving our vision.
