Meet Nicole Perrault of Haus of Design HOD in Costa Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Perrault.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nicole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After being in the industry for nine years and being approached by multiple potential clients and turning jobs down, I felt that it was time to start branching out on my own and to just go for it. I decided that these opportunities were too great to pass up and that this was the next step to take in order to challenge myself and continue my growth.

Within six months of starting the company, we have grown from one to five amazing team members, moved into a design studio in the heart of Costa Mesa and had 17 jobs running at once. Everything was moving so quickly but there was a demand and we hit the ground running, eager and excited.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are always struggles but learning to sink or swim has made me want and work for everything, even more, some of the struggles along the way? well, if I were to list them the article would be too long but that’s what makes it all worth it

Please tell us about Haus of Design HOD.
The first thing you need to know about HOD is that we operate as a whole. I value working together and collaborating on all projects because everyone has something new or different they can bring to the table and I believe it makes the overall design come to fruition.

Haus of Design is an interior design firm specializing in defining their clients’ styles and transforming their spaces into unique personalized designs. A flair for the unexpected makeup HOD’s signature style and captivating spaces.

The smallest details really do make a difference and taking the time to notice them sets good design and great design apart. In doing this, I find it very important to be on site and work hand in hand with the architect, builder and subs to make sure things aren’t overlooked or missed. We are also big on communication as I feel that is a missing link in the creative industry.

Open communication keeps people happy and the project moving, it also helps alleviate added stress to the client. I love working with our clients and giving them the space they desire.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Trusting in myself that I was making the right decision for my career with the knowledge I had learned over the last nine years.

Being confident in my strengths and weaknesses instead of feeling inferior and being able to be vulnerable. But I guess that’s part of growing as a person and for that I’m grateful.
