Meet Hatima Eirine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hatima Eirine.

Hatima, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I honestly started my art for self-therapy. Let us backtrack to why I needed it, my first year of high school I ran track and field I did the events 100,200,2x4and 4×4. So I qualified for CIF’s which was so amazing I was so happy when my coach told me to check the roster for the qualifiers I immediately run over and see my name on the roster and loss my whole mind! I go home and tell my family that I made it into the CIF’s and that this event is the next morning. In the middle of giving everyone the event information, I start having problems with my speech. I woke up the next morning the day of CIF’s and still had a problem with my speech. So my Umi took me to the ER. When they couldn’t find out what was wrong I got admitted to the hospital, after being admitted I developed an unknown seizure condition, which sent my career of athletics to a devastating end. Things did get better I starting drawing and painting to get me out of moments of sadness and quickly learn that I have a huge passion for art! Then I turn that passion into my career. I started doing art shows mid-2018, Id have to say so far my favorite show I’ve done is RAW orange county. I’m so grateful to have had that experience.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road let’s keep it real, you are rarely going to see smooth sealing when you are reaching greatness. It looks more like a kid’s drawing when you start it’s all over the place but in the end, you have a beautiful flower. Personally, my biggest obstacle or challenge was mostly with myself and trying to find my place and confidence in the world of art. Truthfully I feel that it’s getting easier but at the same time harder to put yourself out there. With social media being so accessible to everybody, everyone is now able to broadcast their art. But the downside to that, in my opinion, is there is somewhat of an expectation for the artist to have a certain style to be accepted, now a day’s everything is about a trend. So with me being an abstract artist, I had to find my place in the big sea of creativity.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am most proud of being able to create such unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. I’m known for my cosmic and floral paintings. When I first started I did paintings that looked like meteor showers then as I started to get a feel for my style I branched out to do a mixture of a psychedelic dream style, that’s what I like to call it and floral pieces, I sell original canvass, prints, pre-framed prints, fabric prints for you DIY lovers and t-shirts with select paintings on them.

That’s my friend!!! I did the orange country show with her and if it were not for her, I would’ve been lost! She walked me through my first art show and is soooo nice!
