Meet Hassan Sarwar of InfiniOne in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hassan Sarwar.

Hassan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I founded InfiniOne because I valued the excitement of fun projects more highly than the security of a job. I quickly learned that you can have fun and build impactful products at the same time, with one major caveat: you need great people around you.

Speaking to other founders in LA I realized that many companies had a difficult time finding design and technical talent to work on their products. Unless you know how to code or have very deep pockets, there will be holes in your development needs. I quickly pivoted to almost exclusively providing augmentation and replacement to and of in-house development teams.

I founded the company out of my dorm at USC as a one-man shop, determined to not raise money and instead bootstrap our growth. I worked on our projects myself and slowly grew the business. I’m excited to tell you that today we have offices in both North America and the Middle East.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not a smooth road. There are so many stories of when I thought everything was over, but that builds character and teaches invaluable lessons so quickly. A close friend of mine (and entrepreneur) has a great saying: “The longer you go, the larger percentage of your struggles exist in the past.” If I have a sleepless night filled with all kinds of stress and deadlines, I know that it is just one of many such nights I’ve endured. I get better at it and oddly build comfort/familiarity with the brutality that goes along with aiming big.

In the early days, there were so many times I ran out of money. That’s what happens when you’re a bootstrapped service business. There were times I didn’t know how I’d buy food or pay rent, but somehow things would work out — and again, I’m better because of it. When you’re under pressure and don’t have many options left, you find a way to make things happen. Our culture at the company is built from what I hope is the same tenacity. We do everything we can to make sure our clients are happy, all-nighters included.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about InfiniOne – what should we know?
We design and build custom software for startups and enterprises by augmenting or acting as the internal development team. This includes mobile apps, augmented reality apps, web apps, and messaging software (think of SMS solutions for businesses). We take a hybrid approach to solving problems. Our LA office works on design and everything creative while our Middle East office handles the bulk of software development. This approach allows us to provide high-quality results while saving our customers money.

Our work spans across many different industries and verticals. We’ve worked with financial technology companies, social media companies, consumer product companies, on-demand service companies, messaging companies, auction companies, and more.

We’re known for building quality software and helping companies innovate quickly. Our goal is to build products that can help businesses go to market quickly, learn from their customers, and quickly adapt.

I’m extremely proud of my team and our customers for trusting us with their vision. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Surrounding myself with very talented people. I’ve been able to learn from the strengths of great individuals and build a company that stays at the cutting edge, both technologically and as a business.
