Meet Hans Srijumnong of Q’s Chicken in DTLA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hans Srijumnong.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Hans. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Two decades in the food industry from Michelin star fine dining to fast food exposed me to a wide variety of cuisines and dishes. Creating dishes in anticipation to surprise the taste buds of the person tasting my creation provides an adrenaline rush like no other. To see the facial expression once they try my creation and them walking away with a smile is oddly rewarding. I ventured out to test my concept with the Q’s Chicken pop up and see what the public has to say.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Struggles add depth and color to a person’s journey and somehow work out for the better in the end. Things rarely go according to plan, so I’ve learned to embrace the obstacles that come my way. Each obstacle, no matter how big or small is definitely a part of growing my character muscle and I tackle each one knowing that I’m learning and growing from each experience.

Q’s Chicken – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Q’s Chicken focuses on chicken nuggets and chicken sandwiches made from 100% chicken breast. My go to food is Chick-Fil-A; the product is so simple and both adults and kids love it. I wanted to create a simple product where both kids and adults can enjoy. Everyone loves nuggets with some good dipping sauce. Our nuggets are superb as is but you add some of our awesome sauces and the taste is amplified. Our sandwiches have a twist in the slaw like no other with a hint of refreshing yuzu. Fine dining quality food at an affordable price for everyone to enjoy is the focus at Q’s. We are a pop up so follow us on Instagram for our schedule and locations.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is when one is adding value and making an impact no matter how big or small and finding joy in the process.
