Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Jackson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Hannah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a personal trainer, new mama to a nine months old baby boy, and owner of Hannah Joy Fitness; a health, wellness and fitness company. I grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and from a young age I was always active and running around. My idea of health and fitness was through activity and not necessarily working out.
I ended up moving to LA when I was 21 and shortly after started to struggle with my health and weight. I was later diagnosed with hypothyroidism which caused chronic fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, and skyrocketing stress levels (Just to name a few) which I was later put on medication to combat the symptoms. Although I felt “well” for a while, over time I realized that I wanted to take my health to another level and starting shifting and changing my lifestyle to heal my thyroid naturally and gain strength through physical fitness. Through a lot of my struggles, I fell in love with health and fitness which has now led me to a life four years free of hypothyroidism which I have in return taken that knowledge and personal experience and used in coaching my clients. Apart from my passion to fight hormonal imbalances, my focus with Hannah Joy Fitness is to continue to train and empower women of all backgrounds, needs and goals by giving them the tools they need to attain their goals.
Has it been a smooth road?
As I have stated before, the beginning of my road to health and fitness was dealing with hormonal issues and hypothyroidism. Now four years medication-free and living a lifestyle focused on healthy hormones and a functioning thyroid, I take what I have been through and try and use that knowledge and experience with my clients.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Hannah Joy Fitness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
One of my mottos with my health and training business is that “one size does not fit all.” I pride myself in truly getting to know each one of my clients personally and training them specifically for their body types, hormonal and nutrition needs, as well as their personal goals. My gym is known as the “Booty Bakery” because of the constant focus on training the lower body! Even thought training legs and glutes are my favorite areas to train, I create workouts that are always functional and create a strong foundation to build upon. I train women because I understand a woman’s body and understand what it needs to transform!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
LA is a busy place. That can be a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it. I grew up in a small Midwest town, and to now be in one of the greatest cities in the US, I feel honored to have so many amazing resources at my fingers for my business! As I’m sure many others would agree with me, we could all do without the hours of being stuck in traffic!
