Today we’d like to introduce you to Gus Gougas.
Gus, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been in the SF Valley for most of my life. I was brought up in Granada Hills, went to Granada Hills High School and then to CSUN. I bought my first house in Northridge when I was 21 and then moved to Porter Ranch. I spent 23 year in corporate America in Sales, Sales Management and Marketing. I left corporate America in 2006 to start OrganizIT! A friend of mine who I knew from high school, Tony Greer, started discussing buying a company or starting a company. We looked into a variety of industries. A former business colleague of mine bought a franchise in the garage organization business in Florida and it sounded intriguing. Tony and I flew to Florida to spend time with him, to find out more about this franchise and industry. While we were very interested in this new industry, we were not interested in buying a franchise. So, we decided to go it alone and that is how OrganizIT! began. Both of us were intrigued by the home improvement industry, but both of us had a number of unsatisfactory experiences due to lack of professionalism. Our goal for OrganizIT! was to provide a level of service and professionalism that is common place in corporate America, but unfortunately is lacking in the home improvement industry.
Has it been a smooth road?
We started OrganizIT! in 2006 and quickly realized that there was a major economic downturn. However, we ran the company lean and mean, both of us wearing multiple hats within the company. We have now been in business for 11 years and while most of the competitors that we started against, are no longer here, we are and business is better than ever.

Our core competency is the garage, more specifically the design and build out of organization systems within the garage. OrganizIT! is now the go to Los Angeles & Ventura county garage organization company. We are your full-service garage design and storage company that serves Los Angeles & Ventura county, with a level of professionalism second to none.
What is most gratifying is that people really do appreciate the level of service and professionalism we offer. People do really like getting their calls returned the same business day and showing up on time for appointments. People really appreciate having their projects start a project and finish on time and on budget. The results are in the recognition. We have a ton of 5 star reviews on Yelp and A+ reviews on Angie’s list. We have been featured in newspapers and our projects highlight in book and on home improvement TV programs. We have even been recognized as the “Best Garage Design Firm” by the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best part about Los Angeles is the weather and the diversity. The worst part is the traffic.
