Meet Gucci P of Tykoon Management & Productions in Baltimore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gucci P.

Peter “Gucci P” Iwuh is an entrepreneur, host, music promoter, and creative from Hyattsville, Maryland. P founded Tykoon in May of 2018. Peter has curated college & local events mainly in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area. Past events have featured artists such as Moneybagg Yo, Meek Mill, DaBaby, Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Young Thug and others. P has curated college press runs in the Baltimore top markets for Fetty Luciano GS9 & DC Native, ChellyTheMC. Since the start of Tykoon, P has gained tens of thousands of followers on his personal and business Instagram page.

P is well known for hosting “Kickin It Wit Gucci P”, an interview platform featuring celebrities (past features include: Stunna4Vegas, Blacc Zacc, MoneyMarr & others). Past works featured on Before They Were Famous. According to Mobomboox, “He presents a bright mind, charismatic conversation style, and emphatic swagger when it comes to interviewing his subjects for his interviewing series “Kickin It With Gucci P.” In January of 2020, Crown Royal partnered up with P for Season 2 of “Kickin It Wit Gucci P”.

P is the manager for recording artist Lane Brodie. He has also previously worked with Big Flock & Queen Izzy. His responsibilities include marketing and sourcing of shows, bookings, publicity, interviews, content creation, and overall assisting the growth of their profile.

In June of 2019, P was selected by Sony Music to be the College Marketing Representative of Baltimore, to assist in the promotion and marketing of Sony’s artists to the college demographic. Currently, P is pursuing a B.S. In Strategic Communications at Morgan State University.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely NOT a smooth road. It was a lot of discouragements from friends, affiliates, and even family. With my mom being super religious when she hears entertainment she thinks of “nightlife” which connects to smoking and drinking which she’s against. But I want to show her one can still be successful and clean in this industry.

I also have a Nigerian background so the typical expectations are lawyer, doctor, nurse, etc so the entertainment route is like an opposite choose of career compared to others so that definitely adds pressure to go hard and prove it’s still success to be found within the industry.

Tykoon Management & Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Tykoon Management & Productions, founded in 2018, is a full-service entertainment & media company inclusive of artist development, live events, digital marketing, and content creation. We’re the hottest entertainment company in the nation especially coming from this area. We support our diverse roster of talent via strategic marketing activations, management, publicity, touring, content creation, music distribution, and beyond. Recording artist Lane Brodie is our client Lane Brodie & biggest testimony who we tremendously played a role in his music career development. We were super happy to have L.A. at the top of streaming city charts on Spotify though he’s a Baltimore resident.

Tykoon hosts events from college & nightclub events, informative, to concerts & meet-and-greets. We have curated and marketed events in the D.C. and Baltimore market to host celebrities at popular venues such as Bliss DC, Charm Nightclub, Medusa Baltimore, Eden DC & more. Past celebrities hosted include Moneybagg Yo, Stunna 4 Vegas, Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Uzi Vert, NBA Youngboy, Davido & others. We’ve has hosted solo events amounting up to 3,000+ RSVPs! Our goal is to provide the nation with quality entertainment, experience, and memories through music, media, and live events.

Tykoon is also home to P to web series “Kickin It Wit Gucci P”, an interview platform featuring celebrities (past features include: Stunna4Vegas, Blacc Zacc, MoneyMarr & others). Past works featured on Before They Were Famous. According to Mobomboox “He (Gucci P) presents a bright mind, charismatic conversation style, and emphatic swagger when it comes to interviewing his subjects for his interviewing series “Kickin It With Gucci P.” In January of 2020, Crown Royal partnered up with P for Season 2 of “Kickin It Wit Gucci

What separates us from others is that other entertainment companies don’t start from the leadership and ideas of today’s youth. The diversity of our company is outstanding and unique compared to your average entertainment company. We recently launched an informative platform “Let’s Think Big” which centers around educating youth on business and entrepreneurship importance as well as giving students access to keys and knowledge needed to succeed in the entertainment industry. We just held our first panel at Morgan State University with Stokey Cannaday (Baltimore Mayor elect) , AllHomage from EAT, radio host Raven Paris and others. On a Friday evening the theatre was packed out for information! It was great! Over 200+ students came out to receive information and learn.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel like my dedication and my open-mindedness is most important to my success. If I didn’t believe in the company so much, no one else would. That’s key. If you don’t believe in yourself nobody else will because YOU DONT! And I love to improve my skillsets and abilities so I’m always open to try to learn new things instead of settling at one skill set.
