Meet Greg Reynoso of Linq Magazine in Greater Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Reynoso.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The idea of launching my own platform dates back sometime during 2010. At the time, I had tossed the idea around to a few of my friends for their thoughts and feedback. Unfortunately, their response to the idea was not the positive feedback I was hoping to hear, and I placed the idea on the sideline until sometime during 2012. In 2012, I had moved back to Los Angeles after living in the Midwest for some time. When I arrived in Los Angeles, I had no job lined up, had just sold my car, which left me stuck at home with time, and a small amount of cash. This is when I finally used my skill set, the cash, and the small amount of resentment towards my friends I had left inside me, and created my own platform for independent artists. The process for finding what I wanted to do involved parts that every entrepreneur will experience along their journey, both good and bad. I would not take back any of the experiences along the process, as they helped mold what Linq is today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been too many challenges along the way to name them all. Self-doubt is definitely a challenge that comes to mind. Everyone deals with self-doubt throughout life, and when you conquer that self-doubt, it is a defining moment in your life. A second challenge that I have had to overcome would be the fear of other people’s opinions. Once I was able to truly overcome that challenge, I have been drastically happier and more successful. A daily challenge that I experience, that I’m sure others can relate to, is finding others who are willing to build with you. From experience, others enjoy being around for your wins but not for your losses.

Linq Magazine – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The name of my company is Linq Magazine. Linq Magazine is an online independent arts magazine featuring the best talent from the independent arts community. We search for, curate, and feature rising creators from Musicians to Sneaker Bloggers. The latest addition to the online magazine comes our podcast, “The Linq Up with Greg Reynoso”, which is available to watch on YouTube, or stream using your preferred podcast service. With the addition of adding the podcast, this allows more stories to reach more listeners in a medium that’s more convenient and accessible. This new medium allows me to tell local stories of rising artists that will captivate you with authentic, informative content.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My greatest career-success would certainly be not listening to my friends around me and acting on starting Linq Magazine. Since our inception, we have been able to feature over 200 independent artists and creators. Some of those Music Artists for example, have continued their careers and have since sold out Arenas and reached Billboard. There is something special to be said about watching an artist, an individual, stick to their script and make their passion a reality.
