Meet Giselle Webb of Giselles Guide in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Webb.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Giselle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Skincare was something I’ve always been invested in. Growing up, I struggled with acne/ pimples but it never got better after puberty. So I begin to do research and I started trying different products and I really began to learn more about my skin and products. I was the person that was heavy on social media since it first began and I started to see a shift and how people were using it. I decided to take something I enjoyed so much to social media. I had no clue how to begin or really what I was really doing. The only thing I knew is that I had the knowledge and joy for it. So I begin to post products I was using, routines, and products I just bought. That grew into me being creative with stories and showing my followers how I use products and telling them basic info about skincare. I eventually made my own hashtag “#gisellesguide” my followers caught on quick and I started “self-care Sundays with #gisellesguide ” my followers caught on and started participating in self-care Sundays of their own and tagging my hashtag. It kept growing and growing. I then started gaining followers in the same world and my older followers really started to engage with the new content. Not to long after brands started to reach out and send me products for a reviews. Then it turned into brands wanting to pay me for reviews and then monthly contracts. Now I am paid content creator for a skin care brand within one year. Who would have known. I am just blessed I get to wake up everyday and do something I enjoy so much. Cannot wait to see what’s next.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The idea of going into an oversaturated industry is scary because there’s so many people doing what you do. It was hard grasping everyone’s attention at first. But once you have it, you’re in. They’re invested in you and your brand. So definitely I’d say my struggle was trying to stand apart from everyone else but always making sure I’m staying authentic to myself and my brand.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Giselles Guide – what should we know?
I am a skincare enthusiast who promotes self-care and a content creator for myself and brands. I am known for telling stories through my social media. I am firm believer that me staying authentic to myself and my brand is what sets me apart from anyone else. My tag line for my brand is “be you, love you” and I believe that speaks volume for itself.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
No one understood what I was doing at first. Many people had doubts but you can’t let anyone else’s fear stop you from doing what you believe is the right thing for you to do. My lover has also been in my corner from the beginning. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He pushed me further than I knew I could go. He has also been there to catch me when I was falling. Even answer my midnight phone calls when I was having a creative block and frustrated with everything I was producing. He knows the business better than myself so I love to pick his brain. He’s the one person I know I can trust and will never steer me wrong. He even proofreads all my contracts before I sign them. I like to call him my husband-ger. I also adore my friends because they have been on this journey with me and I am always asking for second options. They support anything I do and I love them for that. They will also give me their true honest options.
