Meet Giovanni Ortega of IncaPrint.com and G&I Enterprises Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanni Ortega.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
At 25yrs of age and my first kid being born, I decided to go started my own business in the furniture industry, I was lucky enough to have a great friend taught me all the inside and outs about the business. After a few years and business growth, I decided to sell the store and dive full time into real estate, because the market was great and demanded all my time. Right after the market crashed in 2007, I decided to invest into different industries: opened a CNC machining shop, bought a Restaurant, a trucking company, and decided to open an authorized dealer for DIRECTV and dish network to sell patty services.

After a while, I decided just to keep the trucking company (mainly one good client who is in printing) and the DIRECTV services stores. After 10 years of successfully keeping these businesses going, technology advances and streaming growing big time, started to put the pay tv industry on its knees and income dropping dramatically… this is when I decided to invest into a soccer complex with two other partners (built artificial turf fields to rent out) and also ask my only great client in the trucking business for advice and became my mentor: he suggested I invest in digital printing, especially wide format that seems to be the industry growing 10% YOY, and here I am.

IncaPrint started in Chatsworth last year, I just bought a state of the art printing and cutting system using the latest EFI UV Cure printer coupled with a COLEX 5’x10’ cutting table. The printer can print fine art to volume production on ridged and roll substrates at speeds previously unobtainable. Coupled with our large cutting/routing table we can produce most any graphic, trade show display or retail POP. Fast turn around and color consistence across substrates is guaranteed since we print both rolls and ridged on the same platform.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not a smooth road of course , struggles like anybody hustling to grow their business…. The biggest sacrifice is to take time away from your family, especially from my kids. I definitely missed out on a lot with my oldest son but now I try to spend as much time as possible with them. Working all weekends is in the past now.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the IncaPrint.com/ G&I Enterprises Inc story. Tell us more about the business.

What set me apart from the rest is that we care about our customers and are always willing to over deliver and go the the extra step. We take responsibility.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Statistics show that wide format printing is growing 10% YOY, we definitely see us growing with the industry.
