Meet Gina Crofts of Mary’s Shelter in Santa Ana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Crofts.

Mary’s Shelter was started almost 25 years ago by a group of women wanting to support young Mothers. When we opened we had 6 beds. Today, we are licensed for 18 girls and 12 babies (30 beds). The population of the girls we serve has changed drastically over the years. Today, the majority of the girls whom live at Mary’s Shelter are in the foster care system. Most of them have suffered years of abuse, trauma, lack of education and more often sex trafficking.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, we are constantly in a world of change. It is imperative for us to stay relevant and support the greatest need.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Mary’s Shelter we strive to offer hope and healing along with opportunity and self-sufficiency. I am very fortunate to work with Mary’s Shelter in the capacity I do. I work alongside our volunteers whom create long-lasting relationships as well as work to raise money for the organization.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
