Today we’d like to introduce you to Gihan Manzueta.
Gihan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are molded at a very young to follow certain steps in order to be successful. Our parents, teachers, community and society begin defining for us what it means to be successful and make it in life. I made life choices that did not fit the mold like being a teen mom but I did not let that stop me from continuing my education and trying to climb the corporate ladder. I was determined to check off all the boxes to fulfill what I thought was the “successful life”. I am happily married, own a home, have wonderful intelligent children who are excelling in school. I found myself still feeling lost and not happy although I did everything on the list. I found myself unhappy and I realized that the whole time I was fulfilling everyone else’s dream but my own. I dove headfirst into figuring out who I was and what I needed to feel happy. I realized that the things I was already doing normally was aligned with my purpose. I have always offered helpful advice to family and friends. My career entails me to due research which I love my background is in compliance (reading is life!).This has lead me to creating a platform and workshop(s)which helps people identify what is hindering them pursuing their dreams. We assist with laying the foundation for people to realize who they are and how to create the life they are meant to live. When I saw others living a life of purpose and joy, I made them an exception when in fact, we are all exceptional and could have that too.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life always presents challenges and it has not been a smooth road. Some of the challenges has been to find my voice and not allowing self-doubt to tell me I can not do this. The challenge of telling your parents that you want to pursue a career outside of finance, law or medical because in their eyes that is the only path to success is tough. In general life has created barriers for us due to our diverse intersections but the biggest limitation is the one we put on ourselves. When we identify the challenge hen we can work to solve it.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a Visioning Advisor, my goal is if I can help guide you closer to finding Joy and Purpose I have done my job. The workshops and seminars are to empower women and men alike by giving them clear guidance on how to build their foundation to create a tangible vision for their future. Helping the individual see what is the roadblock and push them to get past it in order to build a business, have a better relationship with their spouse, child or work life. I am most known for my Vision Board Workshop it is a space where we tackle more then putting together photos on a board we discuss self awareness, the power of gratitude and the importance of connecting with like minded individuals.
I am most proud of watching those that have taken the course and come back telling me how what they have learned from the workshops they are able to apply to their life as a whole.
When you go to vision board events the focus is on placing pictures on a board and doing a couple of games, but the inspiration fades once you go home. I have implemented memorable steps that could be followed once the event is over. The steps is the middle part which allows you to understand how to get from the beginning to the seeing results. I noticed when I have witnessed successful people speak about how they became millionaires or better people the steps to “HOW” is always somehow missing.
The steps I complied are things that have always been available but we do not do them in simultaneously hence why sometimes we accomplish a goal and most of the time, we stop before we even start.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
No luck, just God. There is no such thing as coincidences we all have a purpose. Many of us go around trying to figure out the purpose when in fact, our purpose is in fact our story. So once you begin with your story the good and the bad God will take care of the rest. For those that do not believe in God, they can insert Luck or Universe. We all believe in some kind of source for me it has not been Luck, but God. We are all connected to something and Love seems to be the common denominator but identifying what that means for you will be the beginning of your transformation.
