Today we’d like to introduce you to Gianangelo (Angelo) Iseppi and Zach King.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We started as two friends who met when both living in Las Vegas. In time, Angelo moved to LA and Zach moved to San Diego, but we still had aspirations of creating a business together.
We loved our respective residencies and hometowns that had given so much to us that we decided to start a brand that would truly provide an avenue to represent where you’re from; not just a sports team.
With the concept built, we got to work! Partnering with friends, graphic artists, etc. building the brand’s city portfolio across the nation, but our roots are LA to this day.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our business has had its fair share of struggles whether inventory issues, marketing and business strategies not going to plan, COVID, etc., but the biggest thing is being flexible with solutions. Our flexibility and agility has helped overcome all issues and made us a better Company. It had even opened up new avenues as we expanded our portfolio into other residencies.
What has always stayed consistent is Angelo and Zach’s relationship. That is extremely important to understand your ideals, long-term vision and overall goals as business partners/friends.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about RESID3NCY – what should we know?
We’re a company set on the vision to provide each individual an avenue to represent the cities in which they reside and call home. All too many times, we represent sports teams, not the cities and residencies we call home.
Hats is what began our business, but we have begun to release into all things to represent your lifestyle from clothing to home goods. All things “residency”.
When people see our product, we want people to think, “that’s a person that loves their city” instead of “did you see the game last night?”
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Ability to stay flexible while looking at the overall business landscape. Opportunity is out there and there will always be a different set of obstacles, but the ability to stay fluid and having a gameplan towards your vision is key.
We’ve found much success in finding that balance of acting and reacting.
