Meet Galen Evans of Be You Entertainment in LA / Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Galen Evans.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I sing, I rap, I write, I’m a photographer, I style, I dance and some other things. Oh yeah and don’t get dunked on. I’ve always been a creative person but overtime growing up, I became more serious and lost sight of myself with family expectations of school and business. It took me some time to start realizing what I was truly meant to do in terms of creation and what impact I’d leave on this earth. Once I figured out how lost I was is when things got hard. I dealt with mental and emotional challenges I hadn’t endured before and my comfort, if any was that I knew those things would make me stronger and finally give me the courage to take accountability for my aspirations… As I completed school, I slowly started to find a few people in my life that started to try and tickle my interests and get me to be more (me). Funny enough they were just some other fools coming from Bay like me. I’ve been in the back of rooms, at the root of hooks, behind that lens and all the while struggling to figure out who and what I was even trying to do. Still to this pint, I’m only a little further than when I feel I was before, but the people I keep around me + my therapist keep me moving and trying to put things into perspective. Just know we on the way to greatness and everybody who knows me and who has known me…knows that I’m meant to keep on this path.

Has it been a smooth road?
Most if not all of my obstacles were internal, mental obstacles that troubled me. I’m my greatest enemy and always have been. Being afraid to succeed, afraid of failure, afraid of being held accountable for my own lack in skill or reception. But there’s no time for that apparently, so I’m going to do my best to conquer myself and create despite my challenges. Y’all gone like what you like and that’s that lol. Love y’all

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Some know me as Galen…few know me as Gg, but what I want to be remembered as is someone who tried to get us to just be ourselves. I want us all to work on being our most authentic self and learning to love that and utilize that rather than be ashamed. I want to teach and preach for each of us to:
Be You
To Each Their Own

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA and the Orange County Area are all great locations for what I do and aspire to do. It’s just a matter of what type of person you are and how you choose to use the resources around you. If you feel you want to seriously take your talents and advertise them as a product or service this is a great place as long as you’re genuine and actually putting in your hours. Your success is directly related to the amount of time and resolve you have in your pursuits.
