Meet Gabriel Sanchez of Galz in Inglewood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Sanchez.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Before I began my journey in the fashion industry, before I started Galz I knew one thing and one thing only. I wanted to support women and become an advocate for gender equality. I was raised by a single mom, who not only provided for our family, but also made sure we had memories to look back on. My mother inspires me to highlight hard working woman throughout societies sexism.

I began to further my passion when I started my internship at Rose Studios, I learned all kinds of struggles woman face in the industry. Constantly being around creative women, I gained a voice to help women find there’s. It wasn’t till I was employed at Rose Studios, where I would start my journey with Galz.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Creating Galz Ive face many struggles that have made the process a bit harder. One struggle I’ve face is the personal connection I share with my audience. Being a male founder of company seeking to empower women, can definitely have a few woman feeling hesitant. However, Ive made it one of my biggest priority to inform woman that I am not an enemy but an ally to the movement. One final struggle I face with furthering my company is balancing time. I am not only a founder of Galz but also the manager at Rose Studios. Having already a full day at the office, I also have a full day managing Galz projects, Branding, and marketing. However, one thing I do to keep everything organized, are notebooks, sticky notes, and alarms on my phone.

Galz – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Galz is a platform to highlight female entrepreneurs through all kinds of mainstream media. This platform speaks of all kinds of issues that can be, controversial, Sensitive, or empowering. I don’t believe in what sets me apart from my competitors, we all share similar goals. The only competitor I have is with myself, and on how I can help further gender equality. Galz will be producing IGTV series, articles based on female entrepreneurs, and in the future a podcast.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The way I personally define success is not just being on the top but just starting and continuing to do your business. I think if you’re starting your business you are already successful, we are the only ones who can label our success nobody else.
