Meet Gabe Rosenthal of Rosenthal Dental in Encino and Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabe Rosenthal.

Gabe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When I started college at UC San Diego, I had dreams of going to law school to become a sports agent… You know, the next Jerry Maguire. But, in my junior year, I discovered my college’s pre-dental group. They had a program where you could volunteer providing free dental services for people who cannot afford quality dental care. I was asked to be a volunteer by a friend, and I loved it so much that I ended up getting my dental X ray license and took dental assisting courses! I had to stay in college for two additional years in order to take the science courses required to get into dental school.

I went to dental school at the University of Southern California where I gained a ton of experience, and it reinforced my passion of dentistry and how I made the right career decision. I had a well-rounded education, and I was able to complete many hours in the emergency clinic and with a lot of the top student athletes at USC. Many of whom are still my friends and patients to this day.

Today I work in two offices where my vision has come alive: creating an office where we will forever spare no expense. We spare no expense on staff, the newest technology, and the finest dental labs on the planet to give our patients the very best. All without breaking the bank for our patients. We cater to a wide array of people: from students and people just entering the work force to celebrities and CEOs of multimillion dollar companies. We do not want to price them out, but we also do not want to cut corners or skimp out.

The practice has been growing exponentially, and I know it is because of our dedication to quality dentistry, and the care we have for each and every patient. The main pillar of growth is definitely word-of-mouth. People like the way their smiles are created and maintained along with the care and attention our patients receive. Whether they had extensive cosmetic work, Invisalign, or same-day-crowns, they tell their friends and co-workers, and we continue to grow organically.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Keeping up with the latest trends in social media, online reviews, and the demands of the ”instant gratification” crowd can always be a challenge. We had almost zero online presence our first few years, and I’ve really had to work hard and reach out to experts in this kind of stuff just to keep up! As soon as I got a hang of Facebook, there was Twitter, then Instagram and Yelp. Now, people hear about us, so they then need some samples of what we do online. Currently, we have an informative website (gaberosenthaldds.com) and numerous social media accounts, where patients can see our office, my work and our latest advancements in the dental world.

Rosenthal Dental is a multi-specialty, high-end office. We take a lot of pride in our work and combine the most advanced and proven techniques. We meld them with the latest technology and the finest dental materials to bring our patients’ smiles to their greatest potential.

We are known for our natural looking cosmetic dentistry. Our most requested procedures are porcelain veneers and dental implants. Patients can’t believe how natural and healthy their smiles turn out when they leave our office. We implement digital dentistry into our cosmetic procedures to bring our work to the next level.

However, our main goal is to maintain patient relationships. There’s a reason we get most of our patients through word-of-mouth, we make sure our patients leave happy and feel cared for. We don’t want to do a smile makeover and never see someone again. We strive to have the same families come year after year maintaining their smiles and oral health with checkups and cleanings. We develop a relationship with our loyal patients like no other. As cliché as it sounds, it is true: our staff becomes an extended family to a lot of our patients.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was kind of like a Bart Simpson. I drove my teachers crazy, did a lot of pranks, and had a lot of fun with my friends. For damage control, I used to wait by the mail box around the time when report cards were mailed out…

My favorite subject was P.E., and I always thought I would be a professional baseball player. But, I did always love drawing, creative writing assignments and science class. Those three things all come to play in my career now: Dentistry is as much a science as it is an art form, and thinking creatively allows me to perform intricate dental cases with precision.
