Meet Freeze TooCold

Today we’d like to introduce you to Freeze TooCold.

Freeze, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I, Hasáán Joséf White better known as FreezeTooCold was born September 29, 1997 and raised in West Los Angeles CA. My first song ever, I was 12 years old going to school in Moreno Valley. It was the last day or school and start of spring break. I went to my friend Jovon’s house and wrote a verse to a song he wanted a feature on. He had never heard me rap or anything but gave me my first shot at starting my dream. Growing up, I frequently moved in and out of LA. Different schools, family problems, not really having support, but I never let it stop me. I thought of quitting but I just couldn’t see myself doing anything else. During high school, I was in a group with a few friends (Cameron, the homie Devin, and the bro Ryan). We would do shows at school assemblies, dances, house parties and even started getting paid! That really kept me motivated as I continued my growth. Unfortunately, after graduation in 2015, the group split up. After, I briefly went to NAU but couldn’t afford it after a semester. So the best option was for me to leave school. Once I left, I got a job at Starbucks and kept pursuing my music. Till this day, I am grinding and perfecting my craft everyday.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’m still in the grind so of course it’s not a smooth road and the color of my skin makes it even harder to get noticed in this business. In my journey, I’ve been homeless and in between jobs. All while trying to maintain performances, schedule studio sessions and videos shoots. It is tough but well worth it!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am an aspiring rapper working to perfect my craft and my brand as an artist. A lot of people know me for my song I released called “Back It Up.” I feel I specialize in my creativity because I strive for perfection as a person and an artist. How I present and conduct myself behind the scenes as well as in public plays a huge part in my success. I am proud of my accomplishments I have made so far. I have six music videos out, an EP, upcoming singles, upcoming shows, did my first photoshoot and my name is starting to ring bells. What sets me apart from others is me being me period. I can’t even explain it if you know me, you know.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was full of life and talented. From the start, I knew I was going to be an entertainer!
