Meet Fredielyn Simbol of Love Your Skin Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fredielyn Simbol.

Fredielyn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Seventeen years ago when I moved to the US, I developed acne vulgaris due to the hot California weather and stress of migrating. This was truly a frustrating experience. I’ve tried countless acne prevention products but none of them helped clear my skin. I was so desperate that I decided to take an aesthetician course to hopefully cure myself of severe acne and scars. As I learned, I realized that I’m fascinated of aesthetics and the confidence it gives people post treatment. After finishing the course, I met a skin pathologist in Los Angeles who specializes in skin care and rejuvenation. Under his mentorship, I became certified in Acupressure, Anti-aging Facial and Acne Pathogenesis & Treatment. I mastered how to properly extract acne, closed comedones without leaving scars or marks.

My skincare background inspired me to finish nursing school. After graduation, I worked full time as a private home health nurse, transitioned to hospice nursing and then case manager all while still working part time as an aesthetician in a medical spa. Because of career stress, I slowly switched my priorities and decided to be a full time Aesthetician. It has been an amazing decade of doing Aesthetician work and it all started with a rented room in one of my colleague’s make-up store four years ago. It has truly been a journey. Currently, my list of committed clients is growing and I decided to launch my new office into a larger space in the City of Artesia.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was not easy starting up a business, there are definitely obstacles in running it. The first year was especially hard for me since it is important to have enough capital to keep up with my business expense. I was concerned not to be able to financially make it, so I juggled two additional jobs to sustain my financial needs while continuing to run my business. Not until four years ago, I made a realization to focus on what I love to do and decided to follow my dreams. I took the risk, I gave up my nursing jobs and focused my energy in growing and tending to my business.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

I’m known for having gentle hands when it comes to extracting acne, closed comedones, whiteheads and blackheads without leaving a scar or marks, and that is one of the reason my clients keep coming back.

I’d like to share a moving story of a client in her early 20’s, who felt hopeless at a young age. Her face was plagued by cystic acne, skin break outs and scars. She avoided being in public and was extremely embarrassed to be seen by her friends. This skin condition limited her life experience and the value of her daily interactions with people is diminished. But all of it changed because of her committed attitude to make a difference. She consulted and visited me for a series of treatments. After meeting with her for the third time, her skin condition has improved and cleared up. I will never forget how elated she was the moment she saw her beautiful facial features free from acne. She was almost in tears because finally, she is now able to see herself as a beautiful young woman. I take pride in helping my clients. I aim to make them feel good about themselves, and to help give back the self-confidence they once lost.

What sets me apart from others is that I do this because I love to help people. Seeing the results of my work and my clients leaving happy and satisfied with their facial need or skin treatments gives me a sense of fulfillment.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, our city is a good market place for a skin care business. Mainly because the weather affects everyone’s skin so differently. Being in a city which is rich in diversity, there are many skin types and conditions to treat so I’m more than willing to take on those challenges.
