Today we’d like to introduce you to Francine Ang.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in a traditional Buddhist family in Los Angeles and as far as I could remember spiritual development has always been a part of my life. When I was 16 years old, I spent an entire summer working at a Buddhist temple and that further cemented my love for spiritual work. After college, I took time off to travel and spent the next four years traveling to 32 countries. During these travels, I spent one year in Tibet at a Tibetan Buddhist temple. It was during this stay, I first came to understand my ability to channel through my faith and heal. My experiences there slowly taught me about my psychic abilities and energetic sensitivities that showed up as a healing modality. After I returned to the United States and over time, I honed my skills by studying with various spiritual masters from all over the world, to learn how to trust and to read the ways that Spirit communicate messages and facilitate healing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it certainly has not been a smooth road. I am a spirit living a human life. This human life has human responsibilities, human desires and makes human mistakes. I never doubted my abilities and intention to be a healer but this world has certain judgments of an individual that works with Spirit. In my early days, I was eager to facilitate healing to anyone who asked. I reserved no boundaries and was generously open to all. At times, I didn’t even charge my clients if they had financial difficulties. I blamed myself for not being good enough when healing does not take place. I thought it was my responsibility to heal all that crosses my path. I started to slowly burn out.
During a silent meditation retreat in 2011, I saw myself burning in flames but I wasn’t in pain. I was at peace to see myself burn to ashes. After the meditation, I pray to Spirit for guidance and I heard “Now that you are ashes, there is no ego to serve.” I suddenly realized I was previously serving my ego, believing I was the ONE to save all. How ridiculous is that? After that, I started to build boundaries, created a healthy balance between my mundane and spiritual life and to learn to detach what doesn’t belong to me.
Soulful Om – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Soulful Om was created to be a place of learning and healing. I teach mediation classes, energy healing, intuitive development and spiritual development. I also see individual clients for spiritual guidance, mediumship readings, and healing on all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. I believe we thrive as a community not as an individual, so my space is a sacred, safe space for people to gather to receive healing and to be aligned with their own highest divine self.
I believe we all have a guru within us and are natural healers of our own beings. There are however times when it is helpful to have the tools to empower you to unfold your human experience. My classes and sessions emphasize personal philosophy of soul-heart consciousness. My goal is to help you to open your heart center and cultivate your awareness of the infinite possibilities of peace and inner clarity.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
It has been a long-winded road with lots of highs and lows and I am grateful of all the experiences. However, I have to say the proudest moment of my career so far happened not too long ago, when I traveled to Arthur Findlay College in London to study with several renown mediums. I stood on a platform, where many great mediums had stood before me and gave a mediumship demonstration before 80 people.
