Today we’d like to introduce you to Francia Romero.
Francia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Mexico City. I worked in Television for several years before I decided to move and live in the United States. When I quit my job, my goal was just to learn English for six months in Boston, and have the experience of living in a foreigner country. However, after six months, I made up again my mind and stay much longer than I thought. I got my bachelors degree in Communication in Weston, MA.
I had the opportunity to work in local network community where I started learning editing and directing cameras. At this moment, I came up with the idea to create a name for all projects I was doing because many friends asked me to make videos interviews and video segments, so, Francerome Productions came to alive. I realized that I needed to learn more after a friend asked to produce and direct a music video, so I decided to do a Master in filmmaking, so I moved to Los Angeles California to pursue my filmmaking dream. During my master program, I did many short film under Francerome Productions, so now my goal is to make Francerome Productions a big name and help many people to produce anything would like to do like video segments with interviews, selling products, music videos, commercials, short films, and feature.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, money has been the main struggle.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Francerome Productions – what should we know?
I have made mainly short films, however, I have also produced a music video for a singer friend who lives in Colombia and produce many interviews and video segments for different people. I’m proud that even the bad moments, I’m still coming back to get my dreams and keep growing. What it sets me apart from others is my point of view, the way I see life. So that makes me to show everything in a different perspective. As a film director, I can put new colors and new way of telling a story o anything you would like to share and as screenwriter I can put in words any idea you have in mind.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I’m working as a freelance and that gives me freedom to expand my creativity, and this will be main quality. Give me an idea and I can fly with my creativity and make anything you’ll like to do.
