Meet Florentina Beck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Florentina Beck.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Florentina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My earliest childhood memory I recall is acting silly and impersonating other family members in front of my parents who were hysterically laughing with my silliness. That memory carried me throughout my life. I felt the same when I was playing Shakespeare just as much as when I was receiving acting awards. My audience grew tenfold but that initial love and the support I got from my family was in my helping angel heart, that pushed me to pursue acting until I received my master’s degree for Film and TV. I was born in Republic of Kosova in Southeastern Europe. A place with warmest people with biggest hearts on the face of the planet.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like in any other field, acting it’s never a smooth ride. I’m yet to meet someone who was just lucky to be where they are. Lots of ups and downs throughout mine and everyone’s acting journeys. However, these obstacles helped me shape and confirm my love for acting. Often times, patience is my biggest helper. I know that any struggle overcomes any obstacle when you set your mind to it. The only difference with others is your patience. The more patient you are the less you struggle. Language barrier is a big obstacle along the way. It’s easy to get typecast in Hollywood. Well, how about instead of fighting it, you choose to embrace it and play along with it. Initially, I tried to lose my accent as much as I could but then I realized that exactly this obstacle makes me unique in my acting experience.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am proud that I was awarded several times for my acting portrayals in many film and theater festivals in Kosovo. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to any project. Even if the project is small, I give attention just as much as I would give attention to any other major project. This helped me build bridges and be respected in my artistic journey. Proudest moment of my acting career was when I heard my name being announced that I won Best Actress Albanian Film Festival in Preshevë. It was a surreal moment that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

What were you like growing up?
Happiest kid in the bloc. Ready for any occasion. I felt my neighborhood kids were watching my dreams in front of my eyes. My positive attitude helped me meet best people you could ever meet. Those people now are my best friends. I never argue with anyone. I’m always happy and appreciate life and people around me.
