Meet Farhana Sahibzada of Farhana Sahibzada

Today we’d like to introduce you to Farhana Sahibzada.

Her culinary work career started initially with teaching cooking classes in strictly social settings. Later on, they decided to establish and open a food-related business, so they opened a cafe/a cooking school, in Woodland Hills, CA.

Originally from Lahore, Pakistan, Farhana is a former café owner, a veteran cooking teacher and a recent cookbook author. In addition to teaching classes at her café her teaching credits include: City colleges in L.A. and Santa Barbara, Culinary schools including Let’s get Cookin’ at the Westlake Culinary Institute, The culinary art’s college at the Art’s Institute in Santa Monica California (where she is a regular visiting guest chef and instructor), Southern California’s Culinary Institute in South Pasadena (currently Le Cordon Bleu) California, The New School of Cooking in Culver City, Surfas Culinary District, Local Farmer’s Markets and many other local cooking schools, gourmet food markets including: Gelson’s super Markets, Williams-Sonoma, Whole Foods Markets and other high-end home/kitchen appliance showrooms.

Voted, ‘A Top Event’ by L.A. Weekly in their BEST of L.A., her classes focus on simplifying the art of Pakistani/Indian cooking and offer simple and quick versions for classic and popular recipes of the Indian/Pakistani cuisine Farhana is emerging as a noted authority on the subject of Indian/Pakistani cuisine, and is often invited for speaking engagements and food demos by local culinary colleges, cooking schools, libraries, cultural centers, city museums, food and wine events as well as local and national talk/entertainment television shows. Culinary Consultant: as a culinary consultant, Farhana is often invited to design special menus for prominent cultural events around town, Culinary Colleges and noted restaurants.

Her Beverly Hills Book Award Winning cookbook Flavorful Shortcuts to Indian/Pakistani Cooking (Trafford) is receiving five-star reviews from consumers and professionals alike.

Farhana is also invited to judge food contests at county food events. Along with treasured family recipes, Farhana brings time-honored/authentic recipes and techniques acquired through many professional sources via work with top culinary experts, culinary instructors, restaurant chefs & gifted home-cooks in U.S. and Punjab. Gathered in regular and routine culinary trips back to her homeland over the last 30 years (one just two weeks back!) and working with well-established and reputable Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the U.S.

There is no such thing as an overnight success. Any professional ground covered is nothing but hard work, dedication and a true passion for what you do! The goal always is to prove through my work that the info I share is a great resource for consumers.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Farhana Sahibzada – what should we know?
I put in the groundwork needed to bring out the best info for my culinary work Including working with top-ranked professionals in the industry both here in the U.S. and via regular trips back to Punjab! Which is quite pioneering!

Along with treasured family recipes, Farhana brings time-honored/authentic recipes and techniques acquired through many professional sources via work with top culinary experts, culinary instructors, restaurant chefs & gifted home-cooks in U.S. and Punjab.

Gathered in regular and routine culinary trips back to her homeland over the last 30 years (one just two weeks back!) and working with well-established and reputable Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the U.S. I don’t use my lovely accent or my exotic golden skin color as my credentials… but solid behind the scenes work and research needed!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Giving my best to each an every project I am trusted with! At the end of the day, it is not about me… it’s all about the good information people are hoping to receive! And I make sure the focus is on the value and quality of info shared!
