Meet Ever Arias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ever Arias.

Hi Ever, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
At a young age, I worked in the film industry. Right after high school, I dipped my toes into many departments. I have also built film/video work along the way. I left that life shortly after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This disease awakened a spiritual side of myself, and I felt called to reinvent myself. I wanted to run my own rules, create online content, and start a business. I have been on this small business journey for five years now. It began with a conversation with my grandmother about making offerings. She explained how to use healing herbs such as Chamomile, Rue, and Rosemary to make teas, salves, and poultices. Remembering how I witnessed this as a young girl, I began experimenting: Soap bases using herb blends as additives alongside natural exfoliants such as ground walnut shells. At first, it started with three blends of soaps that progressed into an apothecary bath and beauty line. The everyday seeker or magically curious person can tune into their spiritual side and use the duality of water as a means to heal and delve within.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not always! We are still working on obtaining a bigger workspace to craft our projects and produce our products for online stores and wholesale. Getting a business loan to lift our small business off the ground is one of the main issues since inflation. It is still risky! What kept us afloat were the in-person vending events. We are so grateful to be a part of the niche community to showcase our offerings and educate seekers about healing techniques through our products.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Aside from the apothecary, my day job is as a camera assistant. Cinematography has been a passion of mine as I have a background in film/video production. I emphasized cinematography and editing. With this background, I use social media such as Instagram to shape my brand. I constructed crafting reels to showcase the making process. I reveled in IG Live chats with followers to maintain a sense of familiarity and strengthen connections. I produced posts about our upcoming events. I believe having the creative editing of reels and posts appealed to people. I am most proud of constantly growing my business regardless of the hardships of my multiple sclerosis. Every product I craft makes me gratified to know someone out there will love and use it.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Leaving an industry in which you completely submerged yourself at a young age was very risky. So yes, you can say I can be a risk-taker. Also, making bold moves to start a business and living with Multiple Sclerosis was tricky due to its unpredictability. But all the hard work and planning was so worth it. I have no regrets. Just pure gratitude.
