Today we’d like to introduce you to Eunice Kim.
Eunice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
All my life, I have been a planner. I loved organizing and planning for things way ahead of time. I would actually walk into restaurants to check out the ambiance and the layout, so I can plan my birthday party. It wasn’t until I planned my own wedding that threw me over to the wedding industry. Everyone I knew hated planning their weddings, but I loved every minute of it. I was truly sad when the planning was done. I realized then, it was time to enhance my interest and skills into being a wedding planner and coordinator.
As much as I love planning weddings for the happy couples, I also love learning about them as well. To this day, I still cry every time I send off a bride to walk down the aisle. It is truly the most beautiful moment anyone can ever experience.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can’t say it was always smooth sailing into the field. In the beginning, I had volunteered a lot of my services for free to get my foot in the door. I wanted to show everyone what I was capable of and that this was my true passion. I would work endless weekends to prove that I can be the best. As the years went by, I started getting referrals and couples were finding me on Yelp.
Please tell us about Wedding by Eunice.
My company offers wedding planning and day of coordinating. I am the head planner and coordinator along with two other coordinators on board on the wedding day as needed. We specialize in budget planning, custom designing the wedding and finding the right vendors to fit each couple.
I am known for being detail oriented, prompt on replying to the couples, being dependable from the moment you assign me as your planner until the last hour of your reception. I am honest and I don’t sugar coat. I give unlimited advice and care throughout. The brides sometimes have anxiety and I have been known to calm them down and have them laughing by the time we are done with the conversation. My clients are always able to reach me and will never feel that I’m not giving my 110%.
I am proud that I can call myself a wedding planner with confidence and it is so heart filling and humbling that it was the brides and the grooms that gave me this very chance.
What sets me apart from others is the fact that I consider every wedding as my own. I consider every couple like my family. I treasure and honor every wedding I can be a part of. With this perspective, I still remain friends with many of my clients.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory of my childhood was buying the most unusual pets. I loved animals. Since I was a Daddy’s girl, of course, he bought me everything and anything.
I had a duck, a chick, 2 iguanas, puppies, a parakeet, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, turtles, cats, hermit crab and the list can go on! and yes, I lived in LA with all these pets. Most little girls slept with a stuffed animal ducky, I slept next to a real one.
