Today we’d like to introduce you to Eunice Kim.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Eunice. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I, like many of us, grew up with a strong stigma against cannabis. The DARE program and propaganda categorizing cannabis in the same bucket as heroin and meth definitely had me steering clear of the plant through my entire childhood and adolescent years. When I was living the fast-paced life in New York, with a full-time media job along with my own successful women’s sneaker company, I experienced a lot of anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I tried to mitigate my stress with alcohol, with no luck (in fact, hangovers just made it worse), and I needed relief ASAP. I didn’t want to go down the prescription medications route knowing how harsh the side effects could be. Instead, I wanted to find a natural path to wellness. This was around three years ago and cannabis was still very newly legal in a few states.
None of my friends consumed cannabis so my journey in discovering the healing benefits of the plant was a lonely one. I was googling terms I didn’t understand only to find out there were ten conflicting answers on the internet. Dispensary experiences and products weren’t as polished or informative either. Nevertheless, I found a solution to my anxiety and stress the natural way with CBD and cannabis and felt really grateful I was able to find relief. It inspired me to create a platform where I could help those who didn’t understand cannabis in the right light yet in hopes to help others find their relief naturally quickly and more effectively.
Has it been a smooth road?
The cannabis industry is still really new and uncharted. Everyone in the industry is building the new future from the ground up together. In that sense, the energy feels very supportive and collaborative and I love that. However, because it isn’t federally legal and only some of the states have that privilege, the rules and regulations are inconsistent, burdensome, and difficult to navigate at times. But we stay strong and persistent! Looking forward and working towards a more unified and brighter day.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The cannabis industry is only going to grow and expand from here. It’s slated to be a $25 billion industry by 2025 and that comes as no surprise when we consider how prevalent CBD is now in multiple industries like wellness and beauty. Dispensaries were deemed “essential” during the pandemic and we were able to see the dramatic increase in cannabis sales for those who were seeking it for medicine or to help decrease their stress and anxiety during these trying times.
