Meet Ester Nguyen of Ester’s Photography1 in La Puente

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ester Nguyen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My interest in photography really started developing when I decided to join the school newspaper back in 2004. It was my best two years of high school, from the moment I clicked to the moment I printed the images. Being able to seeing how my images came to life on camera and then paper really gave me an honest joy. Now let’s fast forward 10 years.

I know 10 years… Life wasn’t easy for me in which it became hard to follow my photography journey. Well, in 2016 I told my husband how much I truly missed it and how I was ready to get back to what I am truly passionate about. My husband encouraged me to take the step forward and do what I want/love. I took some courses, asked tons of questions and finally on December 2016 I went for it. I have been now in business 7 months and I can’t wait for what the future will continue to bring to me.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you start any kind of business on your own, it will never be easy. My husband is a business man and has really helped me along the way. I haven’t perfected my business, as everyday I learn new things and apply them to my sessions/clients. But, I believe that with every bump you become better. It truly is just how you view them and decide to solve them. The photography industry is very competitive, have to show my potential clients why I feel I am right for them and what separates me from other photographers.

Please tell us about Ester’s Photography1.
I have a in small studio which I have slowly developed to. What I specialize more in outdoor sessions for Maternity, Families and children. To me having nature as part of your session’s is just magical. I do love to edit and give you as a client something that is different from other photographers. I want to give you that special pop on each image that I edit. I do use my studio for newborns, cake smash and special theme sessions. I am extremely proud of how fast I have been growing in this short amount of time. It is always important to have your clients print their images. This, is why I am now offering canvas prints for my clients because technology is always moving forward and you will never know if that usb, cd or email will be working in the near future.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory was the day my parent took me to SeaWorld. I was maybe about 10years old and it was just magical to me. It’s now just a memory, in my book of memories stored inside me. I truly wish there was a picture of that day taken and printed out, so I can relieve that moment everyday I look at it.
