Meet Erica Thompson of Feed The Soul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Thompson.

Hi Erica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
During 2020, I felt significantly overwhelmed with the Coronavirus pandemic, the transition to remote work because I am a social worker, politics and racism. I knew that I had the coping skills, resources and my basic needs met but I noticed that the people around me; did not. I soon began to wonder, “How can I help my peers?”. As 2020 continued to be as hectic and mind bottling as possible, I spoke with a colleague about how the pandemic has affected me and how I can help others. My colleague referred me to a life coach and the journey began. I hold a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling which launched me forward into commencing my business. In October of 2020, I obtained my Limited Liability Company (LLC) for Feed The Soul Life Coaching. As time passed, I was introduced to an array of people who needed assistance and I soon became a grief counselor and a behavior consultant for youth. I created apparel for clients who completed services with Feed The Soul however, I began selling to the general public as well. My life transformed before my eyes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I have been balancing working as a full-time social worker and being a full-time CEO of my company. I had to relearn time management, become comfortable with creating social media content and how I want to structure my business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Feed The Soul is a movement of peace that is designed for self-improvement and to provide information and inspiration in order to ignite change in others for the better. Everyone has an intuition, a guiding force that helps each and everyone but my mission is help people listen to their intuition. I am known for helping others realize their self-worth, love that parts of themselves that are perceived as undesirable and help provide peace in waking life. I use art therapy, sound therapy, the cognitive behavior approach and person-centered therapies to help others. I also teach communication skills, listening skills and mindfulness techniques. I specialize in behaviors for youth, grief, and self-worth. Throughout life coaching, I encounter people with trauma in their story as well. I see many different life coaches but I offer multiple services whereas my counterparts only do life coaching. I have yet to see a Life Coaching business that includes grief counseling and behavior coaching.
