Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Yokoyama.
Eric, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, ever since I was five years old are used to go with my mother who is a licensed real estate agent for the past 45 years to all of her open houses and all of her showings with her clients.
I started a career in the music business and was in the music and entertainment business for 25 years. After getting tired of all the politics and not getting paid from work I did in the music business. I decided I was gonna take all my relationships in the entertainment business with celebrities and start renting them homes and selling them homes and commercial spaces for recording studios.
So I went and got licensed and as soon as my license came I hit the ground running. My first real estate client was Ray J then Scott Storch, Too Short, Mona Scott Young, Jessica Rich, and Jessica Rich Collection, The Game and so many more and from doing such miracle work with most of my clients getting them what they wanted and how they wanted, these clients then referred all their friends and family to me.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it was a smooth. Transition going from the music business to the real estate business representing all my friends that I knew. I guess the biggest obstacle I ever had was called the clients that don’t know what they want working hard on getting a deal signed showing them multiple.
Multiple houses for weeks then they put in an offer and when it comes to wiring the money to open escrow they get cold feet and back and then two weeks later they call me and say they’re ready again and they do the same thing again back out at the last minute
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Agents of LA – what should we know?
I specialize in rentals and sales of commercial and luxury residential property and non-luxury properties. What sets me apart from everybody else is my dedication and my refusal to lose an offer battle a deal or a transaction.
For my clients, I give my clients every bit of energy I have to get them what they want until they’re happy which then, in turn, makes me happy for making them happy.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I never accept the first in the first NO! I keep trying and trying until I get about three or four knows, but most of the time I get a yes out of a NO.
