Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Briggs.
Emily, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Born and raised in San Diego, I started my career by jumping head-first into the field of marketing and learning all that I could about the industry from anyone who was willing to teach me.
My first job challenged me to become a videographer – I learned how to shoot, what equipment to use, and how to churn out high-quality and stunning videos for the brand I was working at – an automotive company. Then I decided to push myself even more by doing a 180 and taking a job as a Marketing Analyst at a real estate firm.
Within a few months, I was in the trenches of data clean-up and excel reporting. I whipped up reports in handsome designs for CEOs to present to board members and learned the intricacies of SalesForce. At this position, I was fortunate enough to meet two extremely talented and wonderful individuals who not only taught me the ropes of digital marketing, but wanted to partner with me to create a new company – a marketing agency called Your Marketing People.
At only 23 years old, I became a business partner at a growing agency – we only started in February 2017 and are already needing to expand our workforce.
And on top of it, with the kindness of my partners, I’m able to travel the world for the next year while working abroad. From the beaches of Thailand to the temples of Bali, I’m creating reports for clients, editing video footage, and assisting in managing the company.
Altogether Emily is a talented and incredible human being – if she’s not running on the beach, she can be found helping her family’s non-profit organization. Her compassion and vibrancy is the heart of Your Marketing People. You will truly fall in love with this talented marketer, if not for her stellar reporting, then for her remarkable soul.
Has it been a smooth road?
With any start-up, there are always challenges to overcome until everything is running smoothly. For me, the time difference was difficult at first. I wanted to be present at all meetings but realized that it wouldn’t be possible. After a couple of weeks, I realized that it was actually advantageous for our clients and the team that I was working “off” hours, as it gave them 24/7 correspondence.

Putting in years of sweat equity on the brand side for numerous medium and enterprise-level businesses (eCommerce, B2B, and B2C companies) gave us a clear idea of what we wanted our agency to be about. We created Your Marketing People with the sole purpose of bridging the gap between what a company needs and what an agency offers.
Many times, agencies have limitations like standard packages with expensive add-ons, cookie-cutter methodologies and lack of customer support. We built Your Marketing People on the foundations of going in the exact opposite direction. We customize our services and offerings based on what the client needs.
We specialize in paid social media marketing (Facebook), paid search (Google, Bing, and Yahoo), email marketing, videos, and branding.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Orange County is where I got my start in my professional career – there is just so much opportunity here! Starting a business here was ideal especially since both my partners have roots here and family. Most of our clients are nearby as well as the talent we hire. Orange County is great for finding clients and adding talented individuals to our workforce.
We currently use a WeWork place to save on overhead, but will eventually invest in a location. The high cost of rent here does make it a challenge.
