Meet Eleonora Petrosyan of World Financial Group in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eleonora Petrosyan.

Eleonora, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I came to America nine years ago leaving my entire family and friends back in Russia. I packed my stuff and decided that it was time to change my life and to look for better opportunities to become the person I wanted to become. I didn’t know what was ahead of me, but I was certain about only one thing – I wanted to become a better version of myself, bring value to other people’s lives and help the community.

As majority of immigrants, I started my American journey with jobs, which provided me just enough money to pay my bills. But it wasn’t enough. I knew living paycheck-to-paycheck wouldn’t get me to the lifestyle I desired and I deserved. I changed so many jobs, seeking for the perfect opportunity – I was a flower girl, a model, a sales rep, a cashier, a hostess in the high-end Italian restaurant. I’m a strong believer of saying “ask and it’s given”. Four years ago after closing my shift in the restaurant, I was driving back home and I realized that something big is missing from my life. My mind started to trick me, asking whole bunch of questions – why did I leave my family, my friends? Why did I leave my home? Why did I even miss my dad’s funeral? Why did I drop off State University in Russia? Why did I make so many sacrifices? for what? For working paycheck-to-paycheck, for barely financially surviving? For not maxing out my potential?

It bothered me a lot until one day when my acquaintance called me and invited me to join her at the complimentary financial workshops, that one of the biggest financial firms in North America holds. Realizing the urgency of the need of changing my life and learning more about finances, I agreed. And that decision changed my entire life. I fell in love with the information provided there, the culture and the philosophy of the business. My courage and ambition to break out of the masses was so strong, so I checked my ego at the door and decided to start the business, where I can learn A, B, C and 1,2,3 of finances, become a leader and then pass this knowledge to other people, alongside of training and building next generation of leaders in the financial services.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a business is never a smooth ride. I haven’t seen or met any entrepreneur in my life, who would declare that. And I wasn’t an exception. Growing up, I always thought, that me and finances are planets apart, forget about leading people and influencing them for their own good. First of all, I couldn’t even share my excitement to my family (they are back in Russia); majority of people I knew turned their backs to me, thinking I’m going crazy and I need to stick to “secure” job. There were some of the external factors, like naysayers, people, who were questioning my intelligence, non-believers, haters (I had them too). But I believe, if you are in peace with yourself, and you know what you do and your intuition is saying, that’s the right thing to do – stop listening everyone (not everyone in your life has a good intention for you anyway). Do not give the power to steal your dreams to other people. They belong to you and you are the one who is responsible to make them come true. Shut your ears tightly and just move forward to your vision. With this being said, I realized, to make that noise go away I needed to become louder – louder with my dreams, my mission, my vision. I thrive on challenges and they got me going ahead. Through challenges, I develop myself not only in the business but in all areas of my life. Eleonora who you could have met four years ago, isn’t Eleonora now. I became stronger, wiser and completely changed the way I look at certain things.

All these factors listed above are external, but my biggest bump on the road to success was my own mind. Our minds have a unique feature to trick us and to pull us back to the comfortable zone, to “old” us. Our minds overthink and analyze too much, procrastinate and fear certain things. It’s easy to forget about skeptical people, it’s easy to overcome someone else’s not pleasant opinion about me, but it’s way challenging to shut my mind and get it out of my way. These non-supportive illusions of “I don’t have a perfect English and I have an accent”, “I’m 26 years old, who would take a financial advice from a young girl”, “I’m not a public speaker to be on stage and train other people”, etc. The moment I realized it’s all fiction, a “horror movie” in my head and I’m a director of this movie, might as well to write an “action/comedy” movie. I stopped listening to my mind and I linked my business straight to my heart. As my mentor said – “If you want to connect with people with your mind, you might get in fight. But if you want to connect with people with your heart, you both will win”.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the World Financial Group story. Tell us more about the business.
Our success and success of our business partners is the company’s culture. We believe in fairly and honestly serving people and building people. We believe in helping families with their finances that other firms won’t even talk to them. We believe in providing financial education to many people that will help them to secure their financial future. We believe rising leaders that will cheer you on as you fight your way to success.

This is the place where people believe in each other, help each other, encourage, praise and recognize each other. Just think about it, majority of traditional financial companies focus only on 10% of the world population and the rest 90% are left behind without any direction on how to properly manage their finances. Guess who is taking care of them? We are. We help underserved families to get out of the financial hole and give them hope for brighter future for them and their kids. We teach them focus on gaining more happiness, peace, security and confidence in their finances by saving money instead of spending it.

⁣I see us as a flag career of the financial industry – we not only provide complimentary financial literacy seminars and workshops to many families/people across America and Canada but also help people to set up their financial plans. For those, who are sick and tired working paycheck-to-paycheck, we provide the unique business system, where they can start making money on their personal level and eventually grow and expand their own agencies without territorial restrictions.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. Period.

As my mentor says, “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Nothing more, nothing less” . I can’t agree more.
