Meet Edgar Charles of Super$aiyan E in West LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edgar Charles.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a kid, my brother and I used to freestyle to Lil Wayne’s songs’ acapella versions. From heavy influences from him at six years old, it led me to start writing lyrics nearly a year later. When I turned 15, I decided to start creating music, and I made songs using iMovie and Garagband in the beginning. Fast forward, two years later I’m closing in on 70k all time streams on SoundCloud and can’t wait for the world to know Super$aiyan E and his talent.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely anything but smooth. My first main challenge was trying to find somewhere to record back when I didn’t really have any connections with people in the industry. I still have many obstacles that stand in my way, like obtaining a bigger fan base or audience. Gaining exposure is so hard in this city because everyone’s trying to make it too.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
As Super$aiyan E, I am a recording artist firstly, and I make beats occasionally. Working on my engineering skills. I am proud of the way I make my own cover arts usually used for all my songs I post. What sets me apart from others is my way to combine vocals and lyricism into a track and make it sound good. I really don’t mumble on tracks which makes me different from most SoundCloud rappers off the bat.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment of my career has been when I hit 3k streams on a song for the first time because it happened so fast. I wish I could say it was four but it is what it is.
