Meet Ebonie White and Demetria Julian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebonie White and Demetria Julian.

Ebonie and Demetria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We met through Ebonie’s jewelry line Dainty Mae Jewelry on Instagram in 2017. Deme applied to be a brand ambassador for the brand and was picked by Ebonie. Since then we have built a personal relationship outside of the brand. Along the way, Ebonie started a podcast called “convoswithebthepodcast” where Deme became the co-host. After our 3rd episode, we received great responses and feedback from our podcast, that we’ve pushed and focused on recording more. The podcast has really been great and by us being open on the show makes us relatable and entertaining to women all over and this is what has got us to where we are now.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
EBONIE: When I started Daintymae Jewelry I had no idea what I was getting myself into especially being an entrepreneur with no experience in business while still working a 9-5 corporate job. I was able to get more knowledge of the business aspect from a great mentor MAXIE J of ELLAELISQUE she guided me in so many ways to help my business grow and be what it is today. Then my podcast came about because I wanted a way to express myself and share stories of real-life experiences I’ve been through when it came to relationships, friendships and being an entrepreneur while maintaining a 9-5. I wanted females to know there’s someone out there just like you. Throughout all the ups and downs, money lost and doors closed I’m still here and standing tall.

DEME: It’s never really smooth or easy. It’s always a challenge and a bit frustrating. I model so it’s always the thought of will I get picked for a shoot or fashion show. Then there’s always been the look they want. So those thoughts constantly run through my mind. Sometimes I don’t want to bother with submitting because I feel overlooked, but I never give up. I have a big dream of starting my own clothing boutique in the future in which I need to definitely get on that like now. I know I’m capable of making it happen, I just need to let go of the fear I have but I  just want it to be perfect in my eyes and also something the people would love.

Please tell us about your work. What do you guys do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
EBONIE: Dainty Mae Jewelry is my jewelry company in which we specialize in custom name jewelry, necklaces, earrings, and rings. We cater to the everyday girl looking for a dainty and classy look. CONVOSWITHEB THE PODCAST is my therapy to let loose from my 9-5 and talk to girls all over the world and let them know I go through the same things. My proudest moment of DAINTYMAE was having the opportunity to sell my jewelry at a boutique spa in West La called THE YELLOW DOOR BOUTIQUE SPA, these ladies opened their doors to me when everyone else said no thank you to Jules, Dawn and Anna for giving me a chance.

What sets our podcast apart from others is that we just tell it like it is no sugar coat and gives are honest opinions to our listeners. Growing up in Los Angeles not too many people are comfortable putting themselves out there especially in the media industry and being women in this industry we just want to be ourselves and share with other women the daily life of GIRLBOSSES.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I would say just being ourselves and not changing who we are has brought us where we are today with the podcast. As long as we stay true to ourselves everything else will follow.
