Meet Dr Benjamin Horning of Horning Chiropractic in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Benjamin Horning.

Dr. Horning, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a second generation muscle testing chiropractor. My father was a very successful chiropractor in New Jersey. Growing up I saw the power of chiropractic and I had witnessed people who were told they would not get better improve and get better. I decided that when I would continue in my father’s path and become a chiropractor.

After chiropractic school, I opened up shop and started treating people from all walks of life. I’ve treated kids as young as three months and as old as 90 years old. I’ve worked on professional athletes, celebrities, and families. Chiropractic can help people in so many different ways, and I’m blessed to be a part of a person’s journey to health. In 2018, my wife came on board to provide acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It wasn’t easy, and I had many sleepless nights, and I had worked many weekends. Mainly when a new doctor starts he needs to find a way to get business and credibility. Luckily, I was able to help many of the patients that came to see me, and they were able to refer friend and family. I had many mentors that helped me grow as a doctor, and as a business owner and I plan to give back to younger chiropractors later in my life.

Please tell us about Horning Chiropractic.
My chiropractic office focuses on the whole body. I specialize in a muscles testing technique called applied kinesiology. This allows me to find the exact way to adjust or figure out what dysfunction is going on in a patient. I focus a lot on nutrition, and I look at supplements and herbs as a way to handle any imbalances. Although I treat the whole spine, I also take a holistic approach to the whole body. My wife provides acupuncture and chinese medicine for our patients.

As a company, there are many things to be proud of, but I believe I do have a few success stories that still stick with me to this day. I had a woman who was diagnosed with a degenerative disease, who had given upon walking or standing and after an extensive protocol she was able to not only stand and walk but able to shower by herself, even though she still lives with her condition she is empowered and able to have a better quality of life.

I had a woman who’s life revolved around riding horses, after a riding accident, she was told she would never be able to ride again, and she would require surgery and that her life would be limited to little exercise. She came to my office for a different approach, and it saved her quality of life. She was put on a protocol that to resolve the issue and to this day she still rides horses.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The importance of scheduling, if a patient isn’t on the books a lot of times, they don’t show and if they don’t show and miss appointments they don’t get better. It sounds too simple but scheduling people get results and helps get people feeling better.
