Meet Doneisha Belton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Doneisha Belton.

Doneisha, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started when I got a life coach a couple years ago. She taught me how to create healthy boundaries and prioritize what was most important. During that process, I realized I was the life coach for my friends and family all along. Over the last year or so, I noticed I was being asked to speak at different events and initially I was shocked thinking, “who me?” It was obvious that I had calling on my life and everyone could see it.

Earlier this year after speaking at a vision board event, I came home and applied for my life coaching certification. As an unofficial life coach to those around me and speaking at different events, I knew I had found my purpose because I truly enjoyed doing it and it didn’t feel like work. Honestly, I find the most joy in helping others.

Now that I am a Certified Life Coach, it is so fulfilling helping my clients achieve a healthy balance in their lives. Since I started my business and created a social media presence, I can impact more people. I’m able to change lives daily and it feels great!

Helping others is a beautiful thing and finding your passion makes it even better! Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’m a firm believer that our true strength is found in our challenges. I learned about self-care the hard way which is why I am SO focused on teaching others what I discovered. All my life, I was constantly taking care of everything and everyone else and would neglect myself. I found myself extremely exhausted and one day I decided to make a change. I finally realized that I could not pour from an empty cup and needed to take care of myself.

When you start loving yourself and taking care of yourself, you’ll notice all your relationships start to improve. It’s important to remember that self-care is not selfish, and self-care is necessary. My business motto is “Balance over Burnout”.

It is imperative to have balance in every area of your life if you want to live your best life.

Balance over Burnout is a WONDERFUL motto!  What else should we know about your business?
As Founder/CEO of Achieving Healthy Balance, I help others achieve a healthy balance in their lives while maintaining balance over burnout. I’m your girl if you need help executing your goals or dreams, managing stress/anxiety, finding your purpose, believing in yourself, shaking off negativity, practicing more self-love or self-care.

My clients have had major breakthroughs and it is a beautiful sight to see and go through everything with them. I pride myself on being 100% honest. I’m the Life Coach that keeps it REAL. That is what we all need, someone that is going to tell you the truth and be your accountability partner to help you achieve your goals to live your best life.

Life isn’t perfect and I don’t pretend it is. My main philosophy is always learning to push through trials and focusing on the positive. Not every day is a good day, but there is something good in every day!

(Looks like question changed over the last day, but here is the answer to the question of my proudest moment if you are still able to include)

Although I’ve been on my own since the age of 15, persevered through extremely hard challenges, and achieved awesome things in my career, my proudest moment thus far is stepping out on faith getting my life coaching certification and starting my business. My advice to everyone is to NEVER GIVE UP! Often, we are the only ones holding ourselves back. Put your fears aside and follow your heart 😊

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My best friend has truly been an inspiration. She started a business last year and when I started to doubt myself, she would ignore it and immediately switch the subject. She would not allow me to believe my fears. Even the strongest people need encouragement sometimes because we are human as well. I encourage everyone to check on your strong friends because although we make it look easy we still struggle like everyone else.
