Meet DJ Palina La Diva

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Palina La Diva.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I actually never thought that DJing would be my job one day. My friends and I would always joke around about me being a DJ one day because I always had the biggest music collection. Whenever we would hang out somewhere, or if someone had a birthday party or house party, it was always obvious that I would manage the music.

Back then I would just switch the songs from my MP3 Player and then at one point when I started working and earned my first real money I decided to put all that money into DJing – and learn it professionally.

I loved DJing so much that I started practicing every day, sometimes for eight hours straight, and then I had my first booking for a festival in Berlin and I will never forget how nervous I was. I instantly forgot everything about DJing and I just saw buttons.

Of course, that was only the first moment and I figured it out right after that. Thank God, otherwise, my career would have been over before it had even begun. But after that festival, I got a big opportunity to work as the resident DJ in a new Club in Berlin that turned out to be one of the hottest clubs in Germany. From Justin Bieber to Lil Jon and Rita Ora, Travis Scott, Future everyone was there. From there, it all started – I got booked all over Germany and Europe and got a huge opportunity to move to NYC, where I really had to begin from scratch.

I had to believe so much in myself and put so much work in, I took the smallest chances very serious and ended up getting huge opportunities. I played everything from small restaurants to the hottest parties for Playboy, Red Bull and many more as well as concerts for singers like Eric Bellinger and I DJ’d together with huge DJs like DJ smash that I played with in Moscow and had Terrell Owens coming up to me and to tell me that he likes my style at the official Oscar gifting suite. It’s been quite a journey to work my way up but it’s been the best journey of my life that I am still on because they say sky is the limit but I’m up in the sky every week to fly to my next gig and I see the limits are way higher.

Please tell us about your art.
I think the best way to say it is that I create moments. There is nothing more beautiful and fulfilling to me than seeing people screaming and jumping around to the moment that I have created through music. The moment where people feel free and don’t care about any problems they might have. This feeling is priceless!

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
This is a very good question. I think the main focus should always be: the love to what you are doing. If you love it, you will work for it because you don’t see it as “work” if that makes sense. I feel successful when I make people dance and being able to pay my rent from it. And even after seven years of being a DJ, I still love it every single day. I DJ’d at the last TPain Tour in front of thousands of people but I also DJ’d some private events with maybe 15 people but loved it the same way because people appreciated me in both cases.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
