Meet Dion Waters of 8Blockvisuals in South Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dion Waters.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been into music, really music creation. I am a “do it yourself” kind of guy, and I needed visuals for my work, so I bought a camera and shot my first video myself “glow” and taught myself how to edit. Thats when I realized videography and directing is what I was meant to do. I then started school at Los Angeles Film School and graduated with an Associates in film. I have been doing this for about two years now with little to no support I give all the credit to God.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Anything worth doing in life is going to be hard, you know first starting my business, one of the first obstacles I ran into were financial. The toughest obstacle I have had to encounter would be my support system starting off even now.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
The name “8BlockVisuals” comes from the street my grandmother lived on 78th and hoover. It’s also where I shot my first music video. That street is why I am who I am today. I’ve learned how to survive, How to hustle, Loyalty all from one street.

I specialize in Music Videos; it’s what I am known for. I am also known for fast turnarounds with 24-72 hours turnaround time depending on the project

The most thing I am most proud of I would say is that I am expanding. I now offer services in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

I build relationships, this is not just a job to me it’s my passion if I could merry videography I would.

What were you like growing up?
I always challenged myself, anything I started, I made sure I finished and wouldn’t stop practicing till I was good at it.

I boxed, played basketball, football, rap, and if I wasn’t good at it at that moment, shortly after I made it happen.
