Meet Dina Paul of Bel D’Lites

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dina Paul.

Dina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been in my highest element when I am creating. I grew up in a home where food was always the heartbeat of family coming together and creating lasting memories. That’s where my love for being in the kitchen comes from. Taking a set recipe and challenging myself to add my own flair to it to create something completely different is what I live for.

My sweet journey started in a senior living kitchen, I was a server that admired the works or the culinary team. I would watch them while they were in their element and try to recreate the silliest things…like squeezing whipped cream out of a piping bag onto a piece of pie. Slowly but surely, I became the go-to for enhancing the looks of a frozen boxed dessert.

I baked my first cake (from scratch) in 2017, we all have a disaster story…this was mine lol. With countless hours of baking and practicing, I fell in love with cakery.

In 2019 I became the owner and sweet dreamer of Bel D’Lites where I specialize in organic and natural cake decorating techniques. I absolutely love baking and decorating sweet elegant desserts.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We all have challenges in business, one of mine was figuring out my business identity. I believe that your identity in business is what sets you apart from everyone else, whether that be your niche in your industry or the way you do business.

Bel D’Lites – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Bel D’Lites specializes in custom organic artistry cakes, and beautiful gourmet dessert tables that might include mini parfaits, cupcakes, creme brulee, fruit tarts, cheesecake cups, and many more.

I believe my cake artistry work sets me apart from others.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Great question. I believe that your success is what you make it. I’m coming into the cakery business for a couple of reasons, of course, I want to make a great living out of it, but I also want to go back to my community and teach young children how to create a great meal in the kitchen. I’ve always had a heart of service, so being able to go back to my roots and teach will be part of my success story.
