Meet Dina Amr of Dina Amr Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dina Amr.

Dina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As an Egyptian-Belgian woman with a passion for the arts and sciences, following my dreams has meant overcoming many challenges along the way. My biggest passion was Film Making and the journey began with a degree in mass communication in broadcasting at the Modern Science and Art University (MSA) in Egypt. While taking a few cinema classes on the side, my interests shifted from documentary television to film. I realized that cinematic storytelling could be stronger than broadcasting when it came to spreading a message.

I believe that art is able to bring people together to have an understanding of one another by the collaboration of diverse artists to bring a story to life that would reach peoples hearts. I then embarked on my 2-year journey towards a master’s degree in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. With achievements like my last short film winning many awards and being selected in the Short Film Corner in Cannes Film Festival 2017, I am truly blessed.

I am able to share my message and the message of others through the art of video production. I felt there was a need for cinema quality video production at a price point where local businesses and people could afford and that is exactly what Dina Amr Films is all about.

Has it been a smooth road?
There were many of them along the way. One of the most challenging experiences in my career was when I got to Hollywood. The different culture mixed with the fast pace of the film industry has produced many obstacles. Each project comes with its own set of unique solutions I need to find. I need to keep the production moving at all cost working very fast to target our customers and our demographic providing them the top quality product in the timeline they gave.

Because we believe that collaboration is key to achieving greatness we spread our passion and the passion/message of others through an incredible cinematic experience. The industry is becoming more aware of this and businesses and brands that use videos to spread their message are the ones that have an ever positive lasting effect. If used right we feel videos can save the world.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Dina Amr Films – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

She enlists the help of Nick, her brother’s childhood friend, and renowned chemist, to help her manufacture an innovative mood-altering drug. After their chemistry experiment goes awry Lucy and Nick are sent flying through time and space, meeting the scientists, psychologists gurus, users and abusers who have shaped the history of psychedelic drugs.

Along the way, Lucy starts to strategically alter the past in order to prevent the modern drug epidemic and to bring her brother back. Will they succeed in changing the history of medicine? “

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
You have to ask yourself if you are truly passionate about Film and Video that’s what I like most about this city. Los Angeles is one of the hardest cities to survive in so give it your all and magic could happen. What better place to be then the center of the world for what you’re passionate about. There is nothing is perfect, there are always things you like and dislike about anything but I don’t really concentrate on the things I don’t like I try to focus on what I like.
